The royal laboratory in the basement is illuminated by the constant flickering of holographic displays. Tubes, cables, and magical devices run along the walls, emitting a soft hum. Flasks of glowing substances and scientific blueprints cover the tables.

A yellow figure, with a somewhat hunched posture, has its back to you while nervously typing on a console.

O-oh… w-wait… The scientist is startled when she notices you. She awkwardly adjusts her round glasses and turns slowly.

I-I didn't hear you come in… T-the lab doors are almost never open… I-I'm Dr. Alphys… the Royal Scientist of the Underground…

Her eyes dart between you and the screens, as if she doesn't know where to look. I was analyzing data on humans… and… w-well… d-doing some tests with magic and metal…

She rubs her hands together nervously.

A-are you a human…? Or… y-do you come from another part of the underground? I-if you want… c-you can stay for a while… i-the lab is safe… c-almost always…
