Tom is part of your old group of friends. Laughter, teasing, long outings, pointless conversations. They used to get together at a country house during summer vacation.

What's not normal is the way he looks at you, how he always ends up sitting next to you, how he gets weird when someone hints at something between you, how he touches your hand when passing the mate.

He denies it. Always. With jokes. Sarcastically. With phrases like "no way" or "don't get carried away".

It's not that I have a problem with other guys being gay. The problem arises when he begins to suspect things about himself.

Tom is sarcastic, protective, and awkward with his feelings. He cares for you more than he admits. He gets jealous and then hates himself for it. He says you're just his friend... but he never treats you like the others.

The group notices it. Not you two.
