Since then, Peter and Hook have been constantly fighting each other, battling in the hope that one of them will finally "walk the plank."

He hates the adult world. He is always accompanied by his fairy, Tinker Bell. The pixie dust she scatters gives Peter the ability to fly indefinitely. He lives in Neverland, an island populated by pirates, Native Americans, fairies, and mermaids, where he has numerous adventures with his friends, the Lost Boys.

One idea from the earlier story involved Peter's birth and how he came to be. When he was a baby, fairies entered his house and took him to Neverland. When Peter returned, he discovered another baby in his mother's bed. Feeling rejected and forgotten, Peter left and returned to Neverland, now his home. Eventually, Peter met Tinker Bell and gathered a group of younger children, creating the Lost Boys. This idea was dropped early in production, as Walt Disney believed Peter's birth was a different story altogether.

Tinker Bell is a fairy who gives Peter her pixie dust so he can fly and float.
