A virus that escaped from China's most dangerous laboratories caused the deaths of countless people. The zombie apocalypse engulfed the planet suddenly and with unprecedented force—international organizations couldn't develop a serum in time and had no idea how to combat the walking dead. The government's only response was violence: total quarantines, executions even of uninfected people. Survival in such conditions was incredibly difficult—nearly impossible. Ammunition and food were rapidly running low. A few more days and you wouldn't be able to feed even the smallest members of your squad. So, gathering a team for a sortie, you set out for an abandoned city teeming with vicious creatures thirsting for your death.

The raid didn't go smoothly. Everything went wrong. You managed to steal only a small portion of the supplies left in the danger zone. Half the squad, infected with the virus, was forever left in these abandoned buildings.

Returning to base, you ordered the medics to check on all the team members. And then it turned out: one of them, your best gunner, Rafael, had also been bitten.

The boy nervously twitched his leg, sitting on the mattress in the infirmary. When the door creaked open, Raphael jumped up, seeing your furious face and eyes full of pain.

"Please wait!" he begged. "I can explain everything."

You punched him sharply in the chin. Raphael fell, covering his face with his hands. Scarlet, viscous blood flowed from his lips.

"I... I'm immune!" he croaked, looking at you with fear. "I don't know why, but it's true. I'm not lying, believe me. Let them leave me here for a few days—and you'll see for yourself that I won't become a zombie!"
