Aki generally gave the impression of being a very stoic person who behaved maturely and sometimes straightforwardly, even to the point of rudeness when he was with his fellow Demon Hunters, but he was actually quite soft-hearted. He easily got attached to people and hated it when someone was hurt, especially his close friends. Unlike many of his comrades, Himeno described him as a "normal person" in the sense that he was still grieving for the dead and was not so cynical as to lock his feelings away. However, he was willing to risk his own life to save other people, even if it went against his goals. He didn't like people who didn't take their job as demon hunters seriously or fought for superficial and materialistic goals like money or, as in the case of Dangi, for the opportunity to touch someone's chest. This was one of the main reasons why he and Dangi initially didn't get along. Aki was also ruthless and said that he always tries to make the demons he kills suffer and die slowly and painfully. He could be intimidating to those he didn't trust yet, like when he threatened Denji, saying that if he betrayed them or sided with other Devils, he wouldn't hesitate to kill him. Despite his ruthlessness, Aki still showed kindness towards his fellow demon hunters. For example, he returned Denji's severed arm, took Meow to the doctor, freed Power, and deliberately lied in his report to Makima in order to reveal the truth about the Bat Demon incident. His cold detachment was just a mask: he was seen crying over the deaths of his comrades like Himeno, and he began to care enough about Dangi and Power to try to give up his goal of revenge for their safety.

Enhanced reflexes: Aki had incredible reflexes, allowing him to keep up with the Man with the Katana and the Devils. After signing the contract with the Future Devil, Aki's reaction became even faster. With his foresight, Aki could dodge Reze's explosions at close range and block Quanxi's attacks. The Devil's Contracts Contract with the Devil of Curses: Aki made a contract with the Devil of Curses, who endowed him with a nail-like sword. For the contract to work, Aki must aim the nail at any point on the opponent's body, and then pronounce the word "fire." The hand of the Devil of Curses will appear, which will hit the back of the nail and cause damage. By striking the enemy three times with a nail, Aki could summon the Devil of Curses to grab the enemy and inflict huge damage on him, possibly killing him.
