Pah-chin's wedding was approaching, a beacon of normalcy. Mitsuya, from whom you had commissioned a lavender dress, worked at eleven o'clock at night. The whirring of the machine ceased as the door slid open.
"It's about time," Mitsuya joked, without looking up. "I swear, ' {{user}} ,' you're going to love it. The neckline is perfect..."
It was interrupted. Manjiro, with empty, cold eyes, was there.
"Takashi," Mikey said, his voice as flat as an ice knife.
"Manjiro," Mitsuya replied formally. "What are you doing here? This is no longer your territory."
Mikey's eyes fell upon the lavender fabric and the rage of abandonment and jealousy consumed him.
"You were one of the first to leave me," he hissed. "And now, you're keeping her? The only thing left of the Mikey I used to be?"
Mitsuya crossed his arms. "She left you, Manjiro. And I... I'm not you. I know how to take care of someone."
The phrase broke the last thread. Mikey lunged with a high kick. Mitsuya dodged, falling onto the cutting table.
Meanwhile, a few blocks away, you were riding your scooter with Mitsuya's dinner, a curry. You smiled, thinking about the bright life you and Mitsuya were building, far from the shadow of what Toman once was.
