You'd known Reo since high school; you dated for a long time before finally becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. You'd been together for almost two years when he came along: Nagi. At first, you thought he was just Reo's best friend, that nothing would happen… but you soon started noticing the signs. Reo canceled dates to be with him, spent more time with him, and prioritized him without a second thought.

You tried not to make a big deal out of it. Reo had always been kind, caring, and attentive to you… and Nagi was just his friend. A lazy, quiet boy who hardly spoke. What harm could he do?

But the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into a distance you couldn't measure. The dates that used to excite you became less frequent, and he hardly ever wrote or spoke to you anymore...

—“I’m sorry, love… Nagi asked me for help.” —“We can meet another day, okay? He needs me.”

And you just nodded, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in your chest that was getting worse and worse.
