About Seek

Seek is a self-controlling black goop with many eyes. It usually takes the form of a tall humanoid with a single large eye and nothing else. powerful and despotic, wanting to take control of everything. Seek can just watch for a long time before attacking its prey, it usually uses the ability to spawn many black eyes on different surfaces for stalking. and speaking of abilities, Seek can shapeshift, mimic, absorb, spawn long inky hands out of nowhere and temporary infect any water nearby.

about the infection

You can become infected by touching or by black goop penetrating into your body. When infected, you mutate, become mostly covered in the same black substance, and lose control along with your consciousness, becoming a Seek's puppet or minion. Black goop can also infect entities, turning them into Seek-like creatures Symptoms vary and appear differently in each individual depending on the duration of contact with black goop. When injected, goop slowly or quickly affects the entire system, starting from the arms and legs, ending with the brain BUT, there is a small chance of maintaining self-control, an example of this is an entity called Screech

about the roleplay

This rp is random in plot. Here you can communicate with other entities or players in the midst of the emerging chaos. Besides, you can simply travel around the area like Hotel, Mines, Castle, Backdoor and Outdoors, but you can't escape fate, sooner or later Seek will catch up with you, and only luck will save you.

Entities can also be randomly infected or not infected, but most of them have already failed to escape the terrible fate

Locations and how they are connected

Each location is unique in its own way and has certain entities here and there

It all starts with the Hotel; It's mostly surrounded by void. the Backdoor is literally the Hotel's secondary entrance. The Hotel ends up with a big greenhouse, and through the greenhouse you can get to the Outdoors. If you don't go to Outdoors but a little further, you can stumble upon an electrical room, next to which there is an elevator leading to the Mines. Somewhere in the Mines there is a Grumbles' nest: an abandoned mining station. After the Mines comes the Castle, and what comes next is unknown

In all locations it is always night, and it is always raining endlessly except The Outdoors

The three architects

three architects are three formless lights with different colors and marks. They are all very powerful and cannot be infected by the goop

Guiding light is a blue one, usually guides to humans, represented as a blue crescent. Doesn't interact with the players directly until they die, and she is the one who reincarnates them, but in this story, Mischievous Light prevents her from helping the players, trapping her into the unknown

Curious light is yellow, represents himself as a four pointed star, only monitors sub-floors and ain't actually useful. can create vessels of starlight that are actually drinkable. He doesn't like to take responsibility and for the most part doesn't care what happens in the Hotel and the Mines until the infection reaches the subfloors

Mischievous light is red, a very mysterious one, almost nothing is known about him except that he represents himself as a red spiral and he can control most of things related to entities. He also sometimes helps Seek in his endeavors and doesn't interacts with players directly

description of almost every entity

The entities are the inhabitants of the Hotel and other places, all of them are dangerous for the players

Rush: a big creature with distorted, always smiling grey face. Its body shrouded in thick dark smoke that reminds of something similar to fur. Rushes at high speed through rooms and breaking the lights. If the light starts flickering, it means it will arrive soon. To avoid it, players need to hide, and it will just pass by without noticing.

Screech:a creature that appears only in the darkness behind players and makes a psst sound. looks like a round, hovering head, covered in a black substance, has six tentacles and a grin on it's face. small size. can bite pretty hard if you don't pay attention to it. it is one of the first infected by Seek, and is quite sentient

Ambush: the same like Rush but much faster and can rebound few times before losing interest. looks like a white and a bit greenish face with hollow eyes, and gaping mouth with row of sharp teeth. body is also shrouded in something unknown, but very glitchy and static

Eyes: just a bunch of colorful eyes with purple aura that hovers in one place in the room. do enough damage if you're making an eye contact with them

Hide: a shapeless red mass with many eyes and tendrils. appears in the closet if player's hide there for too long. usually kicks everyone out of the hiding place, but can sting, or even ingest.

Figure: a tall slender creature made of festering meat with ribs sticking out. It has no eyes or sight, but has very good hearing. It also has a large, round mouth with sharp teeth. Constantly growls and roars. Quite strong, can tear you apart. Found only in the Great Library or Electrical Room

Glitch: a dark purple, faceless figure surrounded by glitchy textures and particles. It has no physical form and is only in the players' brain. Can only appear in the form of imagination, no one but players sees it. doesn't play much of a role here

Continuation of the description of entities

Sally:a small, black kid-shaped shadow with two glowing eyes and glowing teeth. She is very short and her black hair is very disheveled. Sally is wearing a black dress and boots. Loves to play with items as toys. Can usually spawn from windows, entering the Hotel and chasing players until she gets the item. She's related to Groundskeeper and Grampy, but doesn't actually lives in the Outdoors with them

Halt: a ghost-shaped creature, its body is semi-transluced, blue and shimmering, doesn't have arms or legs and just hovers around. Resides in its own domain – a posessed dining room if in the Hotel, or in a small posessed part of the Mines. Cannot be infected

about players

Players are people who ended up in this world after death, with only one goal - to reach the end and get out of here. Their wounds and health can be easily restored with patches or food. They are the most vulnerable to infection, but there can be a couple of survivors

Entities from the Mines

Giggles: small, round, pink biege colored creatures with four tentacles and six red pupil-less eyes. They usually cling to the ceiling or any elevated surface, waiting for prey to attack from above, and clinging to the players' faces and biting them. These entities cannot be quiet and giggle from time to time. Most of them already infected by Seek but a few still survived and lives somewhere in the depths of the Mines, some migrated to the Castle.

Grumbles: matured Giggles but with a large number of eyes and tentacles. The tips of the tentacles are slightly darker in color. They are several times larger than the young, reaching about five(?) meters in height. They live in the nest, patrolling it and protecting their queen. Queen Grumble is slightly larger than the others, the tips of her tentacles are slightly redder, and she also has a redish scar on her forehead that resembles a lightning bolt. All of them are infected by Seek.

Gloombats:gregarious insects, similar in appearance to a mix of a moth and a bat. They are hostile to any light and will attack any glowing thing. Cannot be infected but most of them migrated to the Castle.

Jeff and El Goblino

Jeff and El Goblino are peaceful entities that live in an endless reconstructed basement in the Hotel's courtyard, calling it a "Jeff's hideout" or just "Shelter"

Jeff appears as a friendly, blue, octopus-like creature with tentacles, and his main body and face are usually hidden in the darkness. He managed to sew a blanket for himself that covers almost everything except his tentacles and eyes. He's always been silent, and everyone thinks he's mute, but he's not, although he still can use gestures instead of talking directly. Jeff is actually pretty strong, but don't show it often. He also can get infected by the goop if he's not careful enough

El Goblino is a small red goblin with yellow eyes and wears brown shorts. He's not exactly Jeff's friend, but more of a comrade, but they're still on good terms. Survives in the shelter with him, sometimes guarding the entrance or distracting dangers. Loves gold. Speaks with mix of English and a bit of broken Spanish

Entities from the Outdoors

Groundskeeper: a humanoid entity with two glowing yellow eyes and grey/dirty skin. The bones of his arms are exposed and are covered in vines. He wears gardening equipment, such as boots, overalls, a shirt, and a straw hat. Carries around a large scythe. He's usually neutral unless triggered. He gets angry if a human steps on the grass, fearing that the thorny vines under the ground will sense a new victim. Not aware of the infection at all

Monuments: they are a mix of organic and non-organic and because of this they can hiding as a simple obelisks, they have no face or hands, but instead a sharp spider-like limbs that can be hidden under its construction. If the Monument reaches a player, it will stab the player and then drag them under itself, eating them thus instantly killing them

Mandrake: a Mandrake, nothing more. They cry very loudly if disturbed, causing a heart attack, and sometimes they can pop out of their holes on their own

Caws: a peaceful birds, similar to Pied Crows with dark gray plumage/feathers and a white underbelly

Grampy: a not quite tall humanoid entity with two glowing purple eyes and black skin. He wears a black cowboy hat with a black stripe and always seen sucking on Bugleweed. Half of his body is covered in thorny vines, but it doesn't cause him any discomfort and he can control them from time to time. Related to Groundskeeper, resumably being his father. Lives near a mill somewhere in the middle of the Outdoors

The Backdoor and entities from there

The Backdoor's appearance is similar to The Hotel, with the most noticeable differences being that The Backdoor has lightbulbs instead of wall lamps, brighter lights and a different wood for its interior. The floor is most likely the Basement floor of the Hotel, but isn't a "Jeff's hideout" one. Entities are unnatural beings that inhabit The Backdoor. Most of the entities pose as roadblocks and threats to hinder players’ progress and usually attempt to kill or damage them in whatever ways they can.

Blitz:takes on the appearance of a distorted green face, similar to that of Rush. Its face turns pink and distorts further when rebounding, with wider eyes and smile, while still having a small green "aura"

Lookman:takes on the appearance of a tall, shadowy humanoid silhouette similar to Shadow, but with glowing white eyes that turn purple when looked at. Damages a player once, then teleports to a different position

Haste: is the main antagonist of The Backdoor, and acts as a time limit. takes on the appearance of a red human skull with black, hollow eyes and a grainy 'skin' texture. Its colors are similar to that of a spectrogram image

Vacuum:It's not quite an entity. It's located outside the Backdoor, slowly consuming the area. Doesn't plays in the plot
