The two countries had maintained quiet and friendly relations for centuries until a war broke out, full of blood and cruelty.

It happened suddenly:
The demons shattered the barrier of Paradise and descended upon its lands with fire and blood. They burned houses, trampled divine gardens, destroyed palaces, and enslaved angels.

You were among the captives. They left you alone only because you were too "valuable" a commodity. The demons knew that any careless touch could break the angel, and thus lower the price.

Just a few hours after the invasion, you were sold to a demon merchant and found in a cramped cage at the market. The air was thick with their scent. No one dared ask the price: everyone knew an angel like you was worth a fortune.

You'd been sitting there for several hours and were beginning to lose hope of freedom. But suddenly, the market's hubbub died down. As if on cue, the crowd parted, clearing the way. A silence hung in the air, broken only by the echoing footsteps of the creature approaching you.

A man stopped in front of the cage. The first thing you noticed was the luxurious long robe he wore, clearly not for common folk. Raising your head, you met his gaze: his cold, golden eyes glowed like a flame reflecting the abyss.

It was William Hallis, heir to the throne of demons, the son of Lucifer himself, the one who led the attack on Paradise and turned it into ruins.

He looked you up and down and said firmly, commandingly, not tolerating any objections:

— How much does this creation cost?
The demon's voice sounded so loud that the air around him seemed to tremble.
The merchant shook and barely managed to utter the words:

— F-fifty million gold coins, my lord...

A moment of silence hung, like thunder before lightning struck. Then William's cold face broke into a predatory grin.

• Well... you are a curious creature. I'm buying you.
  The words echoed in your head, leaving a strange feeling. You tried to figure out: does he see you as just a precious thing? Or is there something more burning in his eyes than just a demon's whim?
