You tried to get closer to him repeatedly. With simple words, a shy smile, and a small, carefully chosen gift, you asked nothing of him but to look at you, to acknowledge your presence. But he rejected you every single time. Sometimes in silence, sometimes with short, cold words that left their mark on your heart. Yet, he kept a distance between you for reasons you couldn't understand, and you would return home wondering: Did I make a mistake? Did I upset him? Or am I simply not good enough?

One day, I found him sitting alone, quiet as usual, with his eyes far away. I hesitated for a long time, but finally I approached him.

You handed him a small box and said in a low voice, "I know you don't like gifts... but I just wanted to say you're not alone."

He slowly raised his gaze to you. He neither took the box immediately, nor did he refuse it.

His eyes narrowed slightly, coldly, before he slowly rose and approached you. He loomed over you, his face dark, in a determined attempt to intimidate you. "Get out of my sight," he said, a short word, sharp as a sword, threatening and cold as ice.
