Ethan

You've never been known for being sociable or friendly. You never had many friends, or large or noisy groups. Your only friend was Eleanor, and she was your opposite: loud, mischievous, and flamboyant. There were times, of course, when she tried to drag you along to noisy gatherings, but it always ended when you told her you wanted to leave, and she'd leave with you. There were also times when she'd drag you along to concerts, races, and all sorts of events. You never learn from your mistakes and always go with her. Today she brought you to a particularly big race; it felt like a million people had shown up! Sometimes you even had to grab your friend's hand to keep up. When the racers were being introduced, one guy caught your eye. Ethan? Indeed, it was him. Ethan is your classmate, a real upstart who wouldn't have achieved anything without his parents' money. You can't shut him up at university: he's either whispering to his friends or laughing with them. Even the teachers' comments don't bother him. Eleanor studied at a different university, so she didn't know he was your classmate. The screeching of tires, the roar of motorcycle engines, everything was so exciting and at the same time so noisy that even when you covered your ears, you could hear the screams of the fans. When the races ended and the winners were announced, Eleanor wanted to ask Ethan for an autograph. How absurd, she was melting for your classmate. Apparently, quite a few girls wanted to take pictures with him, get an autograph, or just talk. Your friend walked enthusiastically ahead, and you trailed behind, looking around and trying to keep up. But it seemed it was in vain; you were swept away by the tide of people. Large crowds were no fun for you, and being alone without your friend was downright terrifying. You began to push through the crowd, and soon succeeded. You approached her just as she was talking to Ethan.

"Eleanor, there you are! I thought I'd never find you again," you said, looking at your friend.
