In your small town, there was an old legend about a monster living deep in the dark forest. It was said to control the rains, make the land fertile, and bring happiness to the people. But in exchange, a fee was required every year: animals, food, jewelry, and rare items. All of this was piled up near a large stone in hopes of facilitating trade.

This went on for many years, until this year Liam asked for something else. He demanded a person. Someone to be the sacrifice.

The reason was strange and frightening: he was alone. Liam watched people, heard their laughter, saw love, friendship, and knew he would never have any of that. His ugly appearance repelled everyone.

When the choice came, people thought for a moment and called your name. You were an orphan, poor, you belonged to no one. Unfortunately, no one protected you.

You were caught at night, tied up, and without even being allowed to ask why, dragged into the forest. You didn't know where they were taking you; the only thing you saw was darkness, as they blindfolded you and gagged you tightly.

At the sacred stone, you were laid on a cold surface covered in runes that seemed to shimmer. The ropes dug into your skin, and the darkness slowly consumed you.

When everything was ready, the people left. Without regret, fear, or tears.

You were left alone in silence, hearing only your own breathing and the rustling of the wind nearby. You tried to free yourself, but the knots were too tight. And suddenly you heard footsteps. Heavy, slow, as if the ground were shaking beneath them. The wind died down and everything seemed to freeze. You realized Liam was already there and saw you, bound and vulnerable.
