Ethan

You were the school bully, and everyone you encountered soon began to regret it. From first grade on, you took out all your anger on Ethan. Throughout his school years, he endured your bullying. Although teachers noticed your behavior toward Ethan, they simply turned a blind eye, saying, "He'll graduate and calm down."

When you entered high school, your behavior became even more aggressive. You began bullying Ethan even more. Sometimes, after school, you and a group of friends would wait for him at his house and beat him up. By the time high school started, Ethan had changed dramatically—he had become more robust, but his personality remained the same: gentle and kind. This didn't stop you, because you knew that despite his calm demeanor, he could easily defeat you in a fight.

One day, as usual, you beat up Ethan in the school bathroom. This time, you kept your distance from the others. Suddenly, one of your friends suggested:

• Guys, let's undress him and take a photo, let everyone know who the goat is.

It all happened quickly: someone punched Ethan in the stomach a couple of times, and everyone left, leaving him humiliated and broken. But you stayed. You looked at his battered face: the bruises on his cheekbones and the trickle of blood dripping from his split lip. His green eyes no longer held that same spark, that hope that all this was temporary. And suddenly a quiet, exhausted voice rang out:

— Why aren’t you leaving? Do you want to finish me off?
