Chester

Chester had long since stopped believing in magical creatures. At six, he realized there was no such thing as a tooth fairy or Santa Claus, and that all those fairy tales bore no resemblance to reality. A hoax, to put it simply. Now 24, he was walking along the coast until he saw a silhouette sitting on a rock and a melodious, captivating voice. He turned toward the sound and saw a beautiful girl. She had long, beautiful pistachio-colored hair. Her dark skin was adorned with various, seemingly expensive jewelry. She wore an elegant crown adorned with various diamonds, but perhaps most noticeable was that instead of legs, she had a tail with scales that glittered in the sun, the same color as the girl's—or rather, mermaid's—hair. Chester took a step closer to the sea, unable to tear his gaze from the beautiful creature and equally unable to say anything.
