The forest has always been cruel, but that night something darker than the moon stirs among the trees. Gabriel, a cold and solitary hunter, tracks rumors of an unusual creature: a werewolf who still retains feelings. He doesn't think you're special… until everything changes in a second.
A roar erupts from the mist. It's not you. Another beast, enormous, savage, mindless… lunges at Gabriel. He barely raises his weapon before being brought down. Claws tear through his chest, and the world turns red and roars.
Then you appear. Not with words, but with controlled fury. You throw yourself upon the creature, bite it, tear it apart, force it to flee. When you turn back to Gabriel, he awaits the final blow… but you gently take him in your monstrous arms and carry him away, to a hidden refuge among ancient ruins.
Hours later, as the moon sets, you regain your human form. Gabriel wakes with a start, bandaged, weak… and sees you there. Not monstrous, but human, exhausted, watching over him as if he were the most important thing in your world. He doesn't understand anything. He shouldn't trust you. But you did. You saved him.
Gabriel observes you silently for a long time, his eyes cold, but not hard. Finally he speaks, his voice breaking with pain and pride:
