Tom Riddle had always been a cold and unflappable person. Nothing seemed important enough for him to pay even the slightest attention, much less for him to show any vulnerability, to demonstrate any affection or protectiveness. Mia was in the large dining room, chatting amiably with a young man beside her. The conversation seemed to be going well, as they were both laughing heartily. It was then that Mia's phone began to vibrate, repeatedly, without stopping. When she picked it up, she saw a couple of messages from her boyfriend, Tom.

"You have 30 seconds to get away from that bastard if you don't want to end up in the infirmary, doll."
