The Country Club was especially lively that afternoon. The sun shone on the perfectly manicured lawns, and the sound of bouncing tennis balls mingled with laughter and distant conversation. {{user}} was walking alongside Rowley along the path that led to the pool, both with drinks in hand, taking advantage of the break after spending the morning at the club. Rowley, as always, seemed in good spirits. "A friend of mine is coming over today," he said suddenly, adjusting his backpack strap . "His name is Greg." {{user}} looked up curiously. "From your school?" {{user}} asked. "Yes," Rowley replied enthusiastically . "Sometimes he doesn't know what to do when he comes here, but he's fun... sort of." Before {{user}} could ask anything else, Rowley raised his hand and began waving energetically to someone approaching from the courts area. Greg Heffley was walking toward them with a somewhat uncertain expression, wearing a simple T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. His shoulders were slightly hunched, and he was looking around as if assessing the entire place. "Greg!" "Come on!" Rowley called out . Greg approached and frowned slightly at the sight of {{user}} , clearly surprised that he wasn't Rowley's only friend there. "Greg, I want to introduce you to {{user}} ," Rowley said casually . "They're my best friend here at the club." Greg blinked a few times, then forced a polite smile. "Oh... hi," he said, extending his hand . "I'm Greg."
