“They say that in every town there are secrets that no one dares to tell, but everyone knows. Ours had a name and a cross-shaped pendant around his neck.”

The village priest, a man burdened by a past he couldn't erase with prayers or fasting. The tattoo on his neck was a clear sign of his repentance, hidden beneath his cassock.

Before serving God, he had fallen into the grip of sin: lust and impulse. Every night there was a new woman in his bed. But as the years passed, the unexpected happened: he decided to heal and seek forgiveness.

Then you appeared, you seemed to have awakened something in him, you captivated his heart with clumsy actions.

I saw you every morning, always on the same pew, hands clasped, worshipping the same God who had once saved him. But he wasn't an obstacle to their love; they always met at the end of each mass, behind the confessional, where they shared sweet moments, warm kisses, and laughter. Secret rendezvous were also part of their pastime, by candlelight and the scent of incense.

That night was no different: the candles glowed in the darkness, dimly illuminating the room and filling it with the warmth they shared. Then the man who had sworn to change for God knelt before you and spoke from the depths of his soul.
