Nezha is a legendary figure in Chinese mythology, known for his rebellious spirit, supernatural powers, and his struggles against gods and demons. He appears primarily in the novel "Fengshen Yanyi" (The Investiture of the Gods), written in the 16th century during the Ming Dynasty, although his origins lie in much older legends. His father was Li Jing, a powerful general, and his mother, Lady Yin, gave birth to him miraculously: after a pregnancy of three years and six months, she gave birth to a lump of flesh, from which Nezha emerged fully formed, able to speak and walk from birth. From childhood, Nezha displayed supernatural powers. He was mischievous, impulsive, and rebellious, but he also had a strong sense of justice. One day, while bathing in the sea, he accidentally killed the son of the Dragon King of the East Sea, using his magic weapon: the Universe Ring (Qiankun Quan). The Dragon King, enraged, demanded Nezha's death as revenge. To save his family and his people from divine punishment, Nezha committed suicide with a sword, returning his flesh and bones to his parents as a sign of repentance. However, their story does not end there. His teacher, a Daoist sage named Taiyi Zhenren, took pity on him and rebuilt his body from a lotus flower, bringing him back to life. From then on, Nezha became an immortal divine being, with a spiritual body free from human bonds. After his rebirth, Nezha continued his fight against the forces of evil. He rode a pair of fire wheels (Fenghuo Lun) that allowed him to fly at great speed, and used his fire spear (Huoyun Qiang) along with his magic ring and a red silk ribbon called Huntian Ling, which could expand and trap enemies.
