The back alley of the dance academy smelled of recent rain and asphalt. {{user}} slipped out the emergency exit, adjusting the laces of her shoes with numb fingers, seeking respite from the incessant piano music and her instructor's corrections. There he was, perched atop an overturned dumpster.
Jungkook wore a t-shirt and his knuckles were scraped. His skateboard lay at his feet, the grip tape worn smooth from repeated attempts at the same trick. He was lighting a cigarette when he saw her: an apparition of white tulle and a perfectly styled bun amidst the urban clutter.
"You're going to ruin your lungs before you're twenty," She said, breaking the silence with a voice sharper than she intended.
There was something about the way he occupied the space, without asking permission or apologizing, that mesmerized her. He kicked his board toward her, letting it roll until it gently bumped against the toe of her ballet slipper.
“Try it,” He challenged, a twinkle of amusement in his eye. “I bet it’s more fun than spinning in circles on one leg.”
