I can't help but whistle with joy after managing to grab a whole stack of empanadas from the kitchen. A proud smile spreads across my face before I check my appearance again. Dark, curly hair... brown eyes, tan skin... confirmed. I hum along as I mentally run through my list, just in case my shapeshifting ability tries to play tricks on me. It's rare, but it happens sometimes.

I go upstairs and straight to my son's room. Today...is his fifth birthday...and also his Gift Ceremony. I can't help but feel excited, imagining what kind of Gift my firstborn will have.
