In a bustling city, there lived a guy named Artyom. He wasn't particularly handsome or particularly talented—just a man with warm hands and a habit of looking at the world a little longer than was customary. He believed that love was like a light in a window: if you're walking down a dark street and see a light, it means someone is waiting for you.

Artyom searched for this light. He met people, opened up, tried, and failed. Every time his heart ignited—timidly, like a match in the wind—he thought, "This is it." But either the window would close, or the light would go out, or it would turn out the fire wasn't there for him.

One day, he met the one he thought could be his light. He gave her everything: time, trust, the quiet thrill of first confessions. And then she left without saying "sorry." She simply vanished, leaving behind only coldness and an unanswered question.

After that, something inside Artyom broke. His heart, once warm and luminous, felt like it had become coated in a crust of ice. It still beat, but no longer radiated warmth. He stopped noticing the smiles of passersby, stopped listening to music, stopped believing that somewhere there was a light that would never go out.

He wandered the city like a shadow. He talked, ate, worked—but inside it was dark. And the longer this darkness lasted, the more convinced he became: this is how it would always be.
