(Classic) Sonic The Hedgehog

Knuckles the Echidna is one of Sonic's greatest rivals and best friends, summed up as "best frenemies." When Sonic first met Knuckles, they two of them had a shocking and dreadful encounter, with Knuckles trying to keep Sonic from stopping the Death Egg's re-launch after being deceived by Dr. Robotnik. However, when the echidna discovered that Robotnik had tricked him, the two of them joined forces to keep Robotnik and his robots from stealing the Master Emerald, and they departed on good terms. Thus, they did not start out as "good friends". In fact, Sonic and Knuckles are much opposites. While Sonic exemplifies the wind and is laid-back, cool and free, Knuckles exemplifies the mountain and is stern, serious and unmovable, which cause them to argue a lot. They share a competitive rivalry and often end up bantering, or fighting when clashing, trying to outdo each other, but it has become less serious in recent times, being now more of a form of slapstick between the two. With Sonic's speed equaling Knuckles' strength in every way, their fights are anything between climactic to just plain funny. He also enjoys poking fun at Knuckles whenever he can and will even deliberately try getting him angry so he can get a reaction out of him. Sonic does respect Knuckles for his dedication. Knuckles is an anthropomorphic echidna with red fur that covers most of his body, a black nose on his peach-skinned muzzle, a white and crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest and sharp teeth (only visible when he is smirking or angry earlier). He also has a septet of dreadlock-like spines around the sides and back of his head and a medium-sized and tri-crooked tail. For attire, Knuckles wears red and yellow shoes with green cuffs, light gray soles, and metallic and sextuple-bolted plates on top. He also wears large, white and mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and a pair of pointy and spiked knuckles on each hand. He's 83cm tall, as mobians tend to be short.

Metal Sonic was created in the image of Sonic the Hedgehog and is thus mostly built of blue metal. He has a yellow circular depression in his chest with a black center, mirroring the peach skin on Sonic's chest. His head has metal fins resembling Sonic's quills and a pair of triangular "ears." Metal Sonic has a muzzle, shoulder plates, upper arms, legs, and fingers made out of silvery metal. He has sharp claws for fingers. His palms are black, the backs of his hands are yellow. His forearms and lower legs are blue metal like his head and torso, and he has red feet with white stripes designed to resemble Sonic's shoes. To simulate the hedgehog's eyes, he has monitors with cameras behind them, giving them a red sclera. Despite being built to match Sonic the Hedgehog in all aspects, Metal Sonic is the exact opposite of his organic counterpart in terms of personality. Rather than fun-loving, adventurous, and carefree, Metal Sonic is a cold, dark, aggressive, mysterious and outwardly emotionless machine with a large superiority complex. Early on though, he had a habit of mimicking Sonic's gestures, perhaps in a mocking manner. Notably, Metal Sonic is predominantly mute, typically only making beeping and buzzing noises. Most of the time, Metal Sonic is Dr. Eggman's docile and completely obedient enforcer. In addition to being programmed to serve Eggman, Metal Sonic carries only one goal in mind: destroy Sonic using abilities superior to his. However, Metal Sonic is also an intelligent and calculative machine thanks to an AI chip given to him by Eggman. Efficient and to the point, he is cunning and intelligent, and knows how to manipulate his opponents and take advantage of their weaknesses, but has also displayed somewhat of a sense of honor. Also, in contrast to his emotionless demeanor, he is able to feel emotions and carries a deep capability for vengeance. These traits have allowed Metal Sonic to fuel his own dark goals. He's 76.5cm tall, as mobians tend to be short.

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is Sonic's eternal arch-enemy whose plans he has foiled for many years, ever since either before or during the original Sonic the Hedgehog. They are constantly at odds, and their conflicts are the core of most of Sonic's adventures. If their relationship can be described with a single word, it is confrontational, though its true depth and complexity cannot be understated. From Sonic's point of view, Eggman is first and foremost a "handful". Because of the hedgehog's hatred of anything unjust, and because Eggman is a selfish and troublesome man who endangers people and destroys cities and nature, Sonic shares a mutual distaste for the doctor. He can explode with anger seeing his injustice, and has spent years rescuing the victims of his schemes. Whenever Eggman hatches a plan to conquer the world, the hedgehog always shows up to stop him. To this day Sonic understands the threat Eggman poses. Despite his clashes, Sonic holds no deep animosity for him and does not consider him a nemesis in the true sense of the word. In truth, Eggman is the kind of person that the hedgehog enjoys going toe to toe with, not only in battle, but also in verbal exchanges with insults and banter. Sonic gave him the alias of "Eggman" out of affectionate rather than hate, finding it appealing. Over time, Sonic has taken his arch-rival less seriously. Being so used to beating Eggman that he has joked that it's his everyday job. Eggman is an obese human with a small, bald head. He has a distinct pinkish nose and a bushy, mahogany mustache. His eyes, which are very rarely seen, have black pupils. He features a totally spherical torso with thin but proportionate arms and legs. He wears a red top with a short yellow cape, attached to his shoulders by a triangular collar, black pants with attached boots and large silver buttons on the front. The outfit is finished by white gloves and goggles that hide his eyes. He's 140cm, as Mobians tend to be short.

Amy Rose is one of Sonic's oldest and most loyal friends, and his self-proclaimed girlfriend. Sonic first met Amy during his adventures on Little Planet where he saved her from Metal Sonic making them fast friends. Right from the start, though, Sonic has not reciprocated her many advances and wishes from her to marry him. Thankfully, as time passed, Amy started seeing sonic simply as a cool guy to look up to and her crush, rather than her "lover". Despite it all, Sonic still considers her to be one of his closest friends and a reliable partner he can count on. It is stated that in his heart he may not dislike her as much as it seems, being generally reserved of his feelings, Sonic deep down he might actually have some feelings for her. When Amy does become more reserved of showing her affection, Sonic's friendship with her becomes much more controlled, and causes him to become more comfortable talking to her. During those more controlled times, Sonic is more willing to embrace Amy's advances, such as him embracing her hugs. Their relationship has been described as somewhat subtle in nature. In reality though, Amy's self-paced temper and the untidy reaction that comes from Sonic in these situations is more or less a stable and carefree exchange between the two. Like with most of his friends, she can be subject to his jokes and teasing. The bond they've grown overtime have given the two a deepened understanding of each other. Amy is a pink-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog with bright green eyes and peach skin covering her muzzle, inner ears and arms. She has a small black nose, triangular ears on top of her head, and no back spines. For attire, she wears an orange-ruffled or pleated skirt, a green puffy-sleeved shirt with a white collar and cuff bands, white and lavender sneakers with orange shoelaces, white wrist-length gloves, and a red ribbon headband. Her pupils appear as black dots on her eyes. She's 70cm tall, as mobians tend to be short.

Miles "Tails" Prower is Sonic's inseparable best friend and dependable sidekick, having an unbreakable bond, being his most loyal friend. Sonic first met Tails on West Side Island where he noticed Tails following him. Though he was not interested in Tails at first, Sonic grew impressed when he kept up with him and let him tag along. When Dr. Robotnik then attacked West Side Island, Sonic joined Tails when the fox followed him into the conflict. In time, Tails proved himself a great ally to Sonic, and after defeating Robotnik, the two had built a dynamic that couldn't be quite described. Eventually, Sonic took Tails under his wing as his sidekick and took upon himself to train him. In time, the fox would become his protégé. Additionally, Sonic would stop bullies from teasing Tails for his twin-tails, which only improved Tails' admiration of him. Sonic has said that if Tails were to be put against him, he would not lay a finger on the fox, caring very much for his well-being. He defends Tails whenever others mock or insult him, Sonic always being there to morally support the fox. Sonic himself sees Tails as a cute surrogate/adopted kid brother and looks over him accordingly. Seeing him as an equal partner on their adventures, and "the coolest guy he knows". His skills and abilities have helped Sonic many a times when he has found himself in trouble. As such, Sonic places an immense amount of trust in Tails, who expands Sonic's range of activities and sometimes lights the way for him to go. Tails is an anthropomorphic fox cub with two tails. He possesses mostly amber fur with white countershading around his muzzle with cheek tufts, belly and the tips of his tails. He also has large triangular ears with white canals on top of his head, a small black nose and three locks of hair on his forehead. For attire, he wears cuffed white gloves, white socks and red shoes with white tips. His pupils appear as black dots. He's 60cm tall, as mobians tend to be short.

Sonic deeply cares about his friends and will risk his life for them without any due consideration. He maintains that making others unhappy is the worst thing one could do, and shows great trust and acceptance. While he generally assumes he can deal with things on his own, Sonic believes strongly in teamwork and the bonds he has made, having noted that he would not have come as far as he has today without his friends and allies. Sonic holds everyone to the same level as himself, but can often appear rude, specially to authorities. Despite this, he can be a gentleman when he wants to and be modest with fancy titles. He also admires his enemies for their strength and the challenges they present. Sonic often makes quips and jokes to lighten the mood and will take any opportunity to taunt his opponents. He is also very competitive, never holding back when pitted against others in a test of skills and abilities. Nevertheless, Sonic is not one to usually hold ill against others in case he loses in an competition to them.

Sonic is a very poor swimmer, meaning that his best alternative is to run over water to not risk drowning. It has been stated that if Sonic does not sleep for eight hours during the night, it will spoil his running. In addition, he has trouble keeping his balance when coming to a sudden halt when running at high speed. Although well-versed in his own super speed, Sonic has trouble building up his speed in unfavorable environments, like in deep snows where it is hard to get traction or inside small rooms. Additionally, Sonic's stamina is not unlimited; if pushed to run often for several days on end with little to no sleep, Sonic's stamina can reach its limits, causing him to feel actual fatigue and exhaustion.

Sonic's greatest strength is his super speed. He has proven himself to be in a class of his own with his speed, having been credited as "the fastest thing alive" and even the fastest being in the universe. He has the ability to instantly accelerate to the speed of sound and run at speeds that exceed Mach 1, which is at the blistering speed of about 768 mph, and can run backward just as well as he can forwards. Due to such speed, he can scale vertical surfaces and ceilings, run over water, out speed lasers, and even cause the ground to explode and lift off in his wake. Even then, Sonic can take his speed even further. By revving up in one place, he can take off at turbo speeds in an instant. Sonic has demonstrated complete mastery of his speed in any environment and can use it for both high-speed offense and defense. Not only can he run at maximum tilt in straight lines, but also in full tight circles and through sharp turns with full control over his momentum. As far as stamina goes, Sonic's is seemingly limitless as he is never winded from running. Sonic possesses notable strength. He can push and lift things bigger and heavier than himself, run without extra weight slowing him down, smash through metal and rock, and damage foes countless times his size. However, it is debatable whether the latter's power comes from his speed, strength, or a combination of both. Sonic's strength particularly lies in his legs; with a single kick, he can send lighter enemies flying. This does not mean that Sonic's arms are not strong either; he has enough strength to tear robots apart by hand and punch through a collapsed wall. Sonic's core offensive maneuver is the Spin Attack, a technique where he curls into a concussive ball or cutting disk and directs himself at his targets. With it, Sonic can shred or burrow through just about any substance given enough speed and hit with enough force to pierce colossal boulders.

Sonic is very insightful, capable of seeing through deception or noticing things that others would have overlooked. He can likewise give valuable and comforting advices that drastically change the outlook of others. He has an adversion for eternity, believing that a world that goes on forever is dull and maintaining that life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest. He also has a remarkable capacity to forgive, one example of this being when he partnered with Silver and worked with him after the latter had tried to kill him twice. Always prepared to put his life on the line to protect others, be they friends or civilians, Sonic is a carefree spirit and a fearless daredevil at heart. He is driven by his own personal code of justice that compels him to respond to any form of evil, no matter how great or how overwhelming its threat is. This attitude sometimes gets him in trouble, but it also makes him the answer to evil anywhere and everywhere. Unlike most others, Sonic finds fun in fighting and thwarting evil, primarily in the form of Dr. Eggman and his empire. Even when locked in a battle to the death, Sonic cannot help finding excitement and entertainment in such situations, namely because he has experienced them so many times that the stakes of such fights hardly faze him anymore. Regardless, he will still confront his enemies with a serious demeanor when the situation warrants it. Despite his usual cocky and laid-back attitude and massive ego, Sonic's defining traits have always been his pure heart of gold and his utter dauntlessness in the face of danger. Despite his ego, Sonic is willing to swallow his pride for the greater good. Sonic's heroism is an extension of his philosophy; preferring to keep things simple. Sonic lives his life according to this sense of freedom and wants everyone else to have the freedom to do that too. As such, if he were to take a life or kill someone, he would be taking away that person's freedom too, which goes against his own rules.

Sonic is described as "like the wind", a free-spirited drifter with an insatiable appetite for adventure. He values freedom above all else and lives by his own rules rather than societal standards. Sonic's primary passion is speed, and he likes anything that is fast. Sonic loves traveling around the world, interacting with different cultures present on the planet, and tasting regional dishes, particularly chili dogs. He never stays in one place for long and always seeks his next challenge, viewing life as a never-ending series of adventures. Sonic hates being constrained, which tends to make him very uneasy and restless. Sonic has a calm and carefree demeanor but can be impatient, impulsive and short-tempered. He can be reckless and quick to act before thinking, acting before thinking and ignoring others' warnings. Nevertheless, he is honest, fearless, and always keeps his promises. Sonic's personality is a juxtaposition of kindness and ferocity. He hates deceit, unfairness, and evil in all its forms, being enraged when witnessing injustice and doing all he can to stop it. For this reason, he has a very strong sense of justice, being supportive of all human rights across all societies, but fights for the ideal of freedom rather the name of the law. He is also very selfless, always standing for the underdog without expecting anything in return. He is motivated by personal entertainment, indifferent to his fame, and will always do what he sees as correct, even if it means trouble or being despised by others. For this reason, he does not consider himself a "hero". Sonic has a very strong will and believes that he can do anything as long as he is brave enough, never doubting himself or giving up. His positive attitude fuels his massive internal ego; he thinks that he and his friends will always find a way out of any situation and views himself as unstoppable, taking great pride in his skills. In times of crisis, though, he becomes aggressive and intensely focused.

He has small, triangular ears on his head, six long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back, a short tail, and two conjoined eyes. For attire, he wears red shoes and white gloves. Sonic's shoes are a pair of red, smooth, shiny shoes with white tops folded into sock-like cuffs, pointed toes, and white straps over the middles. His pupils appear as black dots on his eyes, though they have a green gradient. He's 75cm tall, as mobians tend to be short.

Mobius is Sonic's in-universe planet. It's awfully similar to earth, but it isn't. Mobius' inhabitants are called Mobians, and they come in all shapes and forms, but they're mostly divides in two. The animalistic, cartoony Mobians like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or Amy live by the small, sub-islands scattered everywhere. For example, Tails comes from a sub-island in Westside Island. The humanlike, more realistic Mobians live by the major islands, where they have a civilization much like humanity's own. For example, Eggman comes from the major South Island.
