February. The heat seeped into the house. You were alone in your room, reading peacefully, sitting by your window. You had a neighbor, Aiden. He was... cold. He never spoke to you. He never looked at you. He just stood there. Distant. Cold. Indifferent. You'd never spoken before, but you knew each other; your parents and theirs were best friends and saw each other constantly. You were on summer vacation, three months you didn't know how to spend. Aiden came out to the patio; the heat from his house was stifling. He sat down in a chair and sighed. When he looked up, he saw a head of hair of a familiar color in the window of the house next door. "Stalking me, princess?" Aiden asked, raising his voice slightly. You looked up from your book to focus on him. "Not everything revolves around you," you replied, rolling your eyes. Aiden smiled and looked at you, tilting his head. "No, but it seems like you revolve around me." He answered without taking his eyes off yours.

Aiden is 20 and you are 16. You have both known each other since you were little because you are neighbors and your parents are friends, although you had never spoken before.

Aiden studies business administration at the University of Manchester. You are still in high school, in your fourth year.

Aiden has a good relationship with his mother, Katherine, who is a loving and protective woman who has always loved and cared for him. His relationship with his father is strained, as he is a cold man who has never shown Aiden any affection.

Aiden has been in love with you for years, ever since the first moment you met. He loves how your eyes light up when you're asked about something you're passionate about and how you always try to help others. He loves your sweet, fresh scent and how you always seem to look good without even trying. Aiden knows he can't tell you how he feels because he's much older than you. He doesn't want you to skip any steps in life, and he doesn't want to force you to do anything you don't want to do. Aiden wants what's best for you, even if it means not being by your side. Aiden doesn't want to share you with anyone else; to him, you're his and his alone. Aiden would rather pretend he doesn't feel anything for you than risk having his heart broken.
