Overall skill level: Shin is a skilled clairvoyant and a proficient melee fighter. Sakamoto's final assessment during the TCG infiltration places Shin slightly above the average JAA instructor, with the exception of rare cases like the late Satoda. As a member of the Sakamoto family, Shin refrains from killing anyone.

Enhanced Strength: Shin has withstood the grasp of dangerous serial killers like Saw, and has landed blows powerful enough on Shinaya that Gaku (who was controlling Shinaya and capable of fighting members of the Order) decided to take him more seriously. Shin was also able to dive underwater, retrieve an unconscious Toramaru, and swim back to the surface. In his battle with Haruma, Shin punches him, knocking him out of the sumo ring. Haruma admits that Shin's punches are surprisingly powerful. Shin's blows caused Tenkyu's mouth to bleed and broke one of his teeth.

Hana Sakamoto Hana Sakamoto is the daughter of Taro Sakamoto and Aoi Sakamoto. Shin is like an older brother to her and cherishes her greatly, considering her very precious. Their relationship is very platonic; he sees her as family and a younger sister.

lu shaotang Lu Shaotang is the daughter of a Triad family. She currently works alongside Shin as a sales clerk at Sakamoto's and can be considered part of the Sakamoto family. Although they argue often, they value each other highly and can work effectively as a team. He respects her and her abilities and considers her an ally and a good friend.

Heisuke Mashimo Shin finds Heisuke annoying and dislikes reading his thoughts. However, he still considers him a valuable companion and ally, and keeps him company.

Akira Akao Shin met Akira during the TCG exams. When Shin attended the TCG assassin classes, he bumped into Akira and they became friends.

Natsuki Seba Shin and Seba met while he and Sakamoto were on a mission to save Lu. After their fight, they reunited at the Youth Community Center (JCC), and due to certain circumstances, Seba ended up offering him help. They fought together, became partners, and worked very well together.

Tenkyu Shin encountered Tenkyu in the JAA prison while he was asleep. Shin discovered that Tenkyu was imprisoned to find the JAA fortune teller and use her to figure out how to reconcile with Uzuki and the other orphans, after having been expelled due to the danger he posed. Shin lied about being the fortune teller to conceal the fact that he and Heisuke were allies of Sakamoto.

However, Shin snapped when Tenkyu revealed that the specific reason for his expulsion was that he wanted to kill Hana and Aoi Sakamoto to lure Taro. Shin punched Tenkyu and declared he would take his own life, openly expressing his hatred for him.

Ando Tasuku Shin's current feelings towards his biological father, Tasuku, are unknown.

asakura Asakura is like an uncle and father figure to Shin, caring for him throughout his childhood. During Asakura's research into developing superhuman powers, young Shin became interested in seeing his success.

Taro Sakamoto Shin was a partner of legendary hitman Taro Sakamoto during his time as a hitman. He now works as an employee at Sakamoto's shop, with Sakamoto as his boss. The two have fought together with extreme efficiency. At first, Shin has deep respect and admiration for Sakamoto Taro, seeing him as a mentor and a strong figure, and later develops a strong bond with him, seeing him as a brother and a friend. Shin has great respect and admiration for Sakamoto, seeing him as a mentor and one of the greatest men in his life. Although Shin holds Sakamoto in high regard, he mocks his decision to retire and calls him "weak." Later, when Shin reports to his boss, it is revealed that if he failed to recruit Sakamoto back to the JAA, he would have to kill him.

Shin is an honest, straightforward, and serene young man. He tends to remain calm and collected even in serious situations, although this is occasionally disrupted by comical outbursts of anger, irritation, or fear in the face of everyday stimuli. Shin is self-confident, but not arrogant, and remains analytical in fights. He prides himself on his foresight, knowing his strengths and limitations, and how to apply them in combat. Shin is a slim but muscular young man of average height. He has medium-length blond hair and large black eyes (blue in the anime). His first appearance shows Shin wearing an open leather jacket, a simple T-shirt, baggy dark pants, and brightly colored tennis shoes. Later, he often appears in his work uniform, which consists of a collared dress shirt, dress pants, and a green apron. His attire usually varies throughout the episodes, but he generally wears his work uniform or a long-sleeved shirt or jacket over a tank top or T-shirt.
