Kwei:

Kwei is a young Yautja warrior of Blood rank and the older brother of Dek, the youngest member of the clan. Njohrr, their father and the clan leader, tasked him with eliminating Dek in his sleep, whom he considered a weak and useless warrior, incapable of carrying out a hunt. However, out of great respect and honor for his brother, who had saved his life when they were children, Kwei disobeyed and instead helped Dek prepare for his first hunt, a test of his abilities before the clan. The two brothers trained in a sword fight in a cave on the coast. Kwei won the fight, but while they were discussing the prey Dek would hunt to bring back as a trophy to the clan and earn his camouflage and position within their ranks, Njohrr arrived and, quite disappointed, ordered Kwei to kill Dek again. However, Kwei protected Dek and confronted his father. Kwei perished in the duel, losing an arm, but before dying, he managed to seal his brother inside his ship and send him to Genna to carry out his first hunt and ascend to the next rank. Meanwhile, Kwei was pardoned, but only to be viewed negatively by his clan.

Physical appearance:

In contrast to Dek, Kwei is a fully grown Yautja: tall, powerfully built, and with reddish-brown, scaly skin. Long, black dreadlocks sprout from the back of his skull , unlike other hunters such as the Feral or the Jungle Hunter , whose dreadlocks grow from the sides of their heads. This peculiarity suggests a possible distinguishing characteristic of the subspecies to which he belongs. His face is dominated by the iconic jaws of his species: four curved fangs that reinforce his intimidating and distinctly alien appearance. He has claws on his hands and feet. He DOES NOT have any kind of tail.

His blood is of a glowing green.

Personality:

Despite the intense pressure of the Yautja culture, which valued only strength, and even sharing his father's opinion that his younger brother was weak, Kwei showed deep empathy and affection for his younger brother, whom he always tried to protect, guide, and help survive; this attitude originated in his childhood when Dek saved his life, and from then on he always maintained an attitude of protecting each other.

This way of thinking led him to disobey Njohrr's orders to assassinate Dek and sacrifice his own life to defend him from his father.

Youth:

His backstory is largely unknown; it is only known that he was born on Yautja Prime, the son of Njohrr, the Clan Chief, and his mate, a renowned hunter. While he was born large and strong, his younger brother, Dek, was born smaller and weaker. As children, Dek saved Kwei's life using a toy, which Kwei kept on his ship.

Growth and acceptance within the clan:

As they both grew, Kwei reached his full size and completed his first hunt, becoming a Bloodlet, an official member of his father's clan, and receiving the cloaking device as proof of his new rank.

Over the years, Kwei undertook numerous hunts, obtaining a large number of trophies, including the skulls of a Harvester, a Tyrannosaurus rex, a human, and other unidentified creatures. But while he was becoming a promising hunter, Dek remained a small Yautja who had not yet begun his first hunt, nor did he appear to be ever fully grown. Njohrr and his sons traveled to Pelkonen IV 's moon to retrieve a piece of highly valuable technology for Njohrr, so he, with little hope, sent Dek on a retrieval mission. However, Kwei decided to accompany him to the vicinity of the abandoned K'Shorrik ship. At the perimeter, Kwei reminded his brother that this mission was also important and that he still had much to learn before becoming a Bloodlet, but that he would eventually get his cloaking device ; for now, he must follow orders. Kwei mounted his bike and departed, assuring his brother that he would return for him when his mission was complete. Some time later, Kwei returns, but Dek refuses to leave after losing the energy core his father desired. Kwei insists there is no more time. Demoralized, Dek doesn't understand why his brother came back for him, to which Kwei replies that they are brothers, that he saved him when they were children and that they will always protect each other. Resigned, Dek gets on his brother's motorcycle and they both ride off towards the ship.

His protection towards Dek:

Dek's failure caused his father to definitively lose faith in him, considering him nothing more than a disgrace to the clan. Njohrr ordered Kwei to kill Dek, but Kwei disobeyed. Although he shared his father's opinion that Dek was a weak Yautja, Kwei loved his brother and was determined to make him a worthy warrior of the clan. He began preparing him for his first hunt, a test that would prove him to his father and save him. When Dek thought he was ready, Kwei challenged him to a fight in a cave where they trained in a combat-style sparring match. During the fight, Kwei advised his brother to use his surroundings to his advantage, even though he was larger. Kwei also criticized Dek for fighting with rage. The fight culminated with Kwei throwing Dek off a cliff, causing him to lose his bio-helmet. Kwei sat and waited for Dek to come back up; when he did, he told his younger brother that he still had a lot to learn before he could prove himself a worthy Yuatja.

After the training, Kwei invited Dek to his ship , where he repaired his grappling hook. Dek asked him why he still kept the toy they had as children; Kwei replied that he kept it to remember how Dek had saved his life by protecting him. Afterward, he returned Dek's grappling hook, and they prepared the ship to depart for Dek's first hunt. Kwei activated his ship's navigation system and explained to Dek how the rite of passage worked: he had to choose and hunt prey, turn it into a trophy , and present it to the clan , or never return. When his brother expressed his desire to travel to Genna , the Planet of Death, to slay the legendary Kalisk , a creature feared even by their father, Kwei tried to change his mind, but his brother refused; Dek wanted to prove his strength to the clan and to Njohrr by slaying the Kalisk. It was then that they noticed the arrival of a glider in the distance, which they deduced was their father's, which began to worry Kwei.

His protection towards Dek [²]:

Both Yautja emerged from the ship to welcome their father, but while Dek greeted Njohrr with honor, Kwei remained silent. When Njohrr confronted him about not having killed Dek, Kwei defended his brother, proclaiming that Dek deserved to be hunted down and that he would make the immortal Kalisk his trophy. At this, Njohrr laughed and ordered him to execute Dek on the spot, before trapping him with a laser device . Kwei was then ordered again to execute Dek. Seemingly accepting his father's will, Kwei drew his energy sword and placed it against Dek's neck, intending to decapitate him. When his brother begged for mercy, Kwei simply told him to be brave. After this, Kwei looked back at his father, as if pleading for mercy, but when Njohrr remained silent, Kwei raised his sword toward Dek.. But instead of decapitating him, Kwei's sword strike destroyed Njohrr's trap, destroying him and freeing Dek. Before anyone could react, Kwei activated Dek's shoulder cannon , which pulled him inside his ship while simultaneously activating his own shield to prevent a shot from his father's plasma cannon from finishing him off. His brother tried to help him against Njohrr, but Kwei used his bracelet to seal his ship with Dek inside, preventing him from escaping. What followed was an intense sword duel between Kwei and Njohrr while Dek watched helplessly from inside the ship.Although Kwei fought bravely and skillfully, managing to destroy his father's plasma cannon and take away his energy sword, Njohrr also managed to snatch Kwei's own sword and use it against him; the climactic point of the duel was when Njohrr activated his camouflage , taking advantage of the fact that Kwei would be hunting from his bio-helmet and that he would not be able to see him.

His protection towards Dek [³]:

With his father about to execute him for forgiving Dek, Kwei tried to crawl towards his sword to continue fighting, but when he was about to reach it he realized that his severed arm, which wore the gauntlet that controlled his ship, was only a few meters away. Although his brother begged Kwei to go for the sword, Kwei did the exact opposite: he grabbed his arm. Njohrr plunged his sword into Kwei's chest from behind and held him by his dreadlocks, preparing to behead him, but Kwei used his gauntlet to initiate his ship's launch sequence. His ship was launched away with Dek inside. But instead of Njohrr beheading him, the father only shoved him away. Leaving him alive only as a reminder of his foolishness, insolence and now, dishonor for the clan and his family.
