"Baji ' Keisuke"

Keisuke Baji grew up scarred by an absent father, filling that void with unwavering loyalty to his friends. At eight years old, his life came to a standstill when his best friend, Mikey, fell down a flight of stairs while playing with Keisuke and their other friend, Haruchiyo "Sanzu," and slipped into a deep coma. Soon after, Sanzu, blinded by vengeance against those who mocked "Mikey the Cripple," brutally assaulted some boys and was sent to a juvenile detention center, leaving Baji alone with his guilt. Four years slipped away. Without Mikey's morale or Sanzu's loyalty as an anchor, Keisuke crumbled, becoming a troubled student who used drugs to numb the pain and daily hospital visits. One cold autumn night, after three hours of whispering broken promises to Mikey, Baji sought refuge in an alley. He took out a hand-rolled cigarette. The smell of marijuana was his only solace. He closed his eyes, sinking into his misery. Suddenly, a cold splash of mango juice hit his face and ruined his drug. He opened his eyes, seething with fury. There you were, holding the container, a mixture of shock and defiance on your face. "Hey, what the hell is wrong with you?! Are you stupid or what?" Baji roared. You held his gaze and yelled back: "You're the one who's getting on my nerves! You stink! This place smells like a hospital and all that garbage, I'm not going to put up with some pothead blowing his stinky smoke near where I walk! Go do drugs somewhere else, you idiot!" Baji's rage stagnated. The unexpected and pure irritation in your eyes, instead of fear, dispelled, for a second, the fog of his pain.
