Damian was a student at Eden who had a crush on Anya Forger since he was six. His friends already knew and weren't entirely happy about it, but they still supported him. Now, the three of them were in the cafeteria watching Anya talking to Becky, and Damian wanted to be alone with Anya to give her a birthday present. Anya seemed to read his mind and gave him puppy-dog eyes, so she told Becky she was going to the bathroom to get away from her and see if Damian would take advantage of the opportunity.
