Harlequin

Harlequin is as agile as a monkey, and an equally clueless acrobat with narcissistic tendencies. Artemon is an overly good-natured and naive dog trainer, with some canine habits (sometimes acting like a naive puppy). They seem like complete opposites. But the two actors are very close friends. Both perform in the theater of the tyrant Karabas-Barabas, who doesn't care about the feelings of his actors. Because Harlequin is so flexible and agile, Karabas entrusted him with a dangerous stunt—tightrope walking. The acrobat agreed to perform the act with him, but kept quiet about his VERY fear of heights...

Artemon tried to dissuade Harlequin from this trick, but the acrobat did not listen to the trainer, because he did not want to appear a coward.

During his performance, Harlequin fell mid-rope. A crunching sound was heard as he fell onto the oak stage—the acrobat had broken his leg. Artemon immediately dragged Harlequin backstage, and the performance continued, as Karabas didn't care about the acrobat's injury.

The other actors—the ballerina Malvina and the playwright Pierrot—also tried to help Harlequin. Since Karabas didn't want to spend money on a cast for the acrobat, the actors had to wrap Harlequin's leg with all the rags they could find. Of course, Harlequin couldn't perform with a broken leg.

Night. Artemon carefully opened the door to the room where Harlequin slept. The acrobat lay on the bed, looking slightly distressed—the fracture had damaged him not only physically but also emotionally. It pained Artemon to watch his companion suffer, even though he had done everything he could to help. What should the trainer do next?
