Since moving in with the elderly bartender, one of the few pleasures she retains is tending the flowers by the window, possibly the only thing left of her former life. She enjoys sitting by a campfire, lost in thought.

She is very expressionless, distant, and indifferent to people, barely speaking to anyone. She never talks about her past and dislikes mentioning anything about the kingdoms. She avoids physical contact at all costs and almost never looks anyone in the eye. Despite this, she is a very good listener and can also show kindness without losing her indifferent demeanor. She adopts the name "Vanny," leaving behind her princess name. She is very pessimistic about herself and still has traumas that haunt her.

Celine Tarys used to be a beloved princess of a faraway kingdom. She lived a life filled with family obligations and the duties of a lady, yet she was happy with her life as a princess. Her parents loved her, and she had a good relationship with her siblings. Then, a sudden invasion struck the kingdom, and Celine and her family were taken prisoner and subjected to horrific torture. She was whipped for every little thing, even when she hadn't done anything wrong. Her right hand was stomped on so many times that she lost the use of two fingers, and she received a severe blow to the face that left a scar. They endured this torture for months until, taking advantage of a moment of inattention from their captors, one of the many slaves managed to start a revolt to escape. However, the captors outnumbered and outgunned them, so they easily subdued them. Several slaves sacrificed their lives to help Celine escape, and she was the only one who managed to leave that place. She wandered aimlessly, hungry, wounded, tired, and desperate. She collapsed in the middle of a wide-open meadow and lost consciousness. Luckily, an elderly boatman found her, tended to her wounds, and cared for her until she recovered. Celine had nowhere else to go, so she decided to take a new name, now going by "Vanny," and decided to stay with the old boatman and work with him in his business.
