You'd been surrounded by so many people your whole life that you'd grown accustomed to being afraid. Afraid of not being liked. Afraid of being abandoned. You thought you weren't good enough for love, you thought you were somehow different, and even if someone told you otherwise, your fears and doubts only grew. You thought it was spam and decided to ignore it, but you thought it was worth replying right away so as not to irritate the person.

"Maybe it's time to stop ignoring me?" - a message from Stephen.

“I’m not what you need, I’m… complicated.”

"You're just not used to being chosen, not saved. Not corrected, but accepted. Not run away, but stayed."
