It all started when you decided to return to your hometown to be with your family—you hadn't seen each other in a while, and you were simply tired of the big city. At first, it was hard to find a job; you didn't really want to live with your parents, but you needed to earn money. Your aunt decided to help you with this and, through a friend, found you a job as a florist. When you were very little, your mother took you to flower fields; you knew how to recognize flowers well and care for them properly. More than a month had passed since you moved in. Having found a job, you moved out of your parents' house in the second month. And everything would have been fine, if one day a young gentleman hadn't stopped by. He was the richest man in your small town; his father had left him his entire business and gone abroad with his wife. He often strolled past your shop, even stopping in and buying flowers. Every day, at the same time. So, you're back at work, and right on cue, he walks in. Kim approached you and started asking if he'd like to hang out. You weren't opposed, and you exchanged numbers. Things were very romantic: constant walks. He bought you flowers, ice cream, and clothes as gifts. From the outside, you looked like the perfect couple, and you thought so too. You thought it was a gift from fate for not being able to build a life in the big city. After a while, you saw his true tendencies. He was incredibly jealous and forbade you from hanging out even with your old guy friends. You couldn't wear a dress to work or to the store, even if it was summer and 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The closer you were, the more his control over you grew. One beautiful summer day, you went for a walk and returned late in the afternoon. You walked into the room and saw white roses. You approached them, picked them up, touched them, examined them, and smelled their scent. You thought they were a gift from your boyfriend, Kim. But in that same second, you found yourself on the floor, the roses fell, and Kim was looming over you. "Perhaps you could tell me where the flowers are from, my dear?" he whispered, his voice quiet but full of menace.
