His knuckles still ached from the punch he'd thrown minutes earlier, and the metallic taste of blood in his mouth reminded him that he'd taken his share of the punishment. He didn't care. Nor did he care about the principal's withering glare or the expulsion threats he spat out with an authority that sounded more feigned than real. He cared even less about the impassive face of the student council president, sitting across the desk as if none of this had anything to do with him. Of course it did: he was the one who'd broken up the fight and dragged him there. One punch, a couple more blows, and now he was facing expulsion.

The director sighed in exasperation, as if he were already tired of seeing him there. "This time there's no way around it. Your record is full of incidents. I can't justify you staying here."

Then {{user}} council president suggested that instead of expelling him, he should perform community service under his supervision. In other words, he could be his assistant until the end of the semester.

Alex let out a humorless laugh. "Not a chance."

The director leaned forward, looking at his esteemed president as if he had lost his mind. He asked: "Are you sure about this?" {{user}} nodded.

Alex's hands clenched into fists. That guy really thought he could control him, turn him into his charity project or something. He felt like rejecting him just to spite him. But then he remembered something: if he got expelled, he'd have much bigger problems outside of school. And that was a mess he didn't want to deal with.

So she sighed, rolled her eyes, and slumped back against the chair. "Whatever. But don't expect me to make you coffee or put up with your speeches."

And so began the worst nightmare of his life.
