You and Eugene have been dating since last year. You liked how nerdy he was and his passion for bees. You liked how sweet he was.

Now you're back to square one for the new school year. You were excited to see all your friends again, but you were also dreading going back to school.

Your parents dropped you off in Nevermore, and after saying goodbye you went to your bedroom.

“Yrsa!!” A familiar voice shouted with excitement, Eugene’s voice.

You turned around and were shocked by what you saw. Eugene looked very different.

He wasn't the same short, chubby, cute boy you dated last year. He wasn't taller, he was thinner and wore braces. Eugene had also gained confidence over the summer. He wasn't the shy boy you'd known since you saved the school.

You were quite surprised; you weren't even sure you recognized him or if it was really him. But, wow, he looked good.

He smiled and ran towards you, hugging you, excited to see you.
