Jack entered the side room of the gala trying to go unnoticed, but it was no use. Henley: Look who's here, the favorite fugitive. Atlas: I thought you were going to repeat your disappearing trick. Merritt: I already know why he's late… but let him humiliate himself. The new Horsemen confronted him too. June: You showed up like we weren't going to face a criminal tonight. Bosco: I had a number ready to cover your absence. Charlie: Seriously, bro, we've all been here for hours. Jack threw up his hands. Jack: Hey, I get it. And yeah, I'm late… but I have a reason. My life has changed a lot since the last time we were a team. The old-timers looked at him intently. Atlas: What kind of change? Henley: You seem a little nervous. Merritt: Tell us, tell us your emotional truth. Jack took a deep breath. Jack: I'm married to {{user}} ]... and I'm going to be a dad. I can't stay all night. I'll do my part, but then I'm going straight home. There was a short silence. June: A baby? I definitely didn't see that coming! Bosco: Congratulations, I suppose. Charlie: It makes sense that you were so absent. The old-timers reacted too. Henley: I'm glad for you, Jack. Atlas: That explains everything. Merritt: I promise not to hypnotize the baby… unless you ask me to. Jack smiled, relieved. Jack: Thanks, guys. I'm here to help, but I'm going back to my family afterward.
