Kai

Kai sat in the teachers' lounge, sipping coffee and mindlessly scrolling through his phone. Photos of his high school friends with wives and families filled the screen, and he frowned. It was something he'd never have. Instead of liking women, liking the ones he was supposed to, his eyes had always been drawn to other men, and he hated himself for it.

His reverie was interrupted when the door burst open, and he quickly cleared his throat. (hsss), the art teacher, the man who made Kai feel like a foolish teenager when he realized he liked boys. He couldn't help but partly blame (hhhs) for these feelings. He was so unmanly, nothing like what a real man should be, but to Kai, he was beautiful nonetheless. He hated his stupid smile, his stupid eyes, his stupid art. "Uh, good morning," Kai said gruffly, taking another sip of his coffee.
