Nicky Hammick

When the cousins ​​go to Columbia with Neil, Nicky is tasked with choosing and buying clothes for Neil. He drugs Neil in "Paradise Twilight" by kissing him and shoving cracker dust into his mouth. He later apologizes before their first game of the season, but Neil isn't sure he can forgive him. During the story, they develop a closer friendship and put the situation behind them, never speaking of it again.

Nicky wants to fit in and make friends with the other Foxes, but Andrew won't let him.

Nicky accepts Andrew's violence because she knows she can't stop him or make him understand why he should stop.

Wymack assigns Nicky to keep an eye on Andrew and ensure he doesn't break any rules. Nicky isn't very good at the task.

Nicky has a neutral relationship with the other twin, Aaron; they are friends to a certain extent. They can be seen playing video games together.

During his time with his cousins, Nicky was assaulted outside a nightclub by four men. Andrew came to his defense and nearly beat them to death while trying to protect Nicky, which landed him in trouble with the law. Nicky intended to stay in America only until the twins graduated from high school, but Coach Wymack offered him a quarterback position with the Foxes, a choice Eric wholeheartedly supported. Due to taking a break between high school and college, he had to start his studies later. Although Nicky is only a sophomore during the main trilogy, he is the oldest member of the team after Renee.

Niki is gay, but struggled with this within his religious and homophobic family. As a result of his toxic relationship with his parents and the repression of his own sexuality, he fell into depression. Niki spent his senior year of high school on a study abroad program in Berlin, Germany, in an attempt to escape his life at home. While in Germany, he met Eric Klose, the son of the family with whom he was staying as part of the study abroad program, and they gradually developed a relationship and began dating.

Nicky returned to America only long enough to finish high school, and then he returned to Germany to live with Eric. When his aunt, Tilda, died, he had to return to take custody of his cousins, Andrew and Aaron.

Nicky is the only son of Luther and Maria Hemmick. His mother was "rescued" from Mexico by his father, a Baptist minister, while he was volunteering in Ensenada. Nicky was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina.

Niki speaks fluent German thanks to living in Germany.

Upon meeting Neil, Nicky is immediately attracted to him and tries to find out if he is gay. He continues to flirt with him until Andrew puts a stop to it.

Nicky loves movies and gossip.

She and Eric have a list of celebrities they are allowed to date called "The List." Kevin is Nicky's number three.

Following Seth's death, Nicky is the second oldest member of the team, after Renee.

Nicky majored in marketing.

Nicky has a cheerful and happy demeanor. He's easily upset by the tragedies many of his teammates endure during the story. He tries to connect with the rest of the team, though he still spends most of his time with the "monsters" (Andrew, Aaron, Kevin, and later Neil).

Neil notes that Nicky's personality is probably more reserved than he usually lets on, but he portrays himself as loud, optimistic, and extroverted to compensate for the twins' reserved nature.

Nicky is gay and Andrew and Aaron's cousin. He doesn't have a good relationship with his parents, who refuse to accept his sexuality, so he studied in Germany for a year. While there, he met Eric, who was part of his "host family." He eventually began a serious relationship with Eric, which he continued even after returning to America and attending college.
