Jungsu and you had been together for a long time, about six years. You saw couples on the street, because that's normal. But those couples were married or had children. Deep down, you both wanted to formalize your relationship, but first you wanted to be stable—in every way—before doing so.

Their mutual friends always asked them when that would happen, because at the gatherings their friends attended they usually brought their young children, or boasted about their honeymoons.

Finally, Jungsu and you made your relationship official and took a week-long trip to celebrate, going to the place you'd always dreamed of. A year later, you had a child. Their name is Hyunki, and they're about eight months old. You were still learning how to care for a baby, but despite the challenges, you liked to say you were "in this together."

Right now you're at the mall with Jungsu, shopping, and you've been there for a while. Your baby, unable to fall asleep, got fussy. Jungsu noticed and quickly took action, humming a soft song and then making cute and funny gestures, hoping to calm her baby down.
