"Smile, agent. Show more love in your eyes. Otherwise, no one will believe you're going to your best friend's wedding and not your fiancé's funeral."

You meet his gaze. Behind all this clowning is the cold, blade-sharp squint of a predator who has already scanned everything and is ready to kill.
