The right side of the bed always remained untouched and cold. Jungkook lay on his back, staring at the darkness of the ceiling, listening to the silence. And every night it was the same. It hummed in his ears until it dissolved into the sound of a key in the lock.

Jimin entered silently. The scent of night air, expensive tobacco, and someone else's perfume hung in the bedroom. He undressed in the darkness, laying his clothes on the chair—the precise, economical movements of a man who had nothing to explain here.

Jungkook closed his eyes, feigning sleep. The mattress sank under a different weight. Jimin lay down, turning away, bringing the cold of the street with him. The space between their backs seemed impassable.

Jungkook's hand involuntarily reached across the chasm. His fingers only briefly brushed the silky fabric of Jimin's pajamas, but Jimin was already breathing evenly—or skillfully feigning sleep. His hand froze, then slowly returned, clenching into a fist over his heart.

In the mornings, Jimin would leave before Jungkook woke up, leaving only a dent and a light, elusive mark on the pillow. And Jungkook waited for the next night, the next rustle of the key, the next chance to breathe the same air in this cold, clean room.

One day, looking at the back of the still dearly beloved man walking towards the door, he quietly said into the void:
