The learned cat

You often dine at the famous Lukomorye café. A keeper named Cat works there. Today was no exception. You came to dine at your favorite café, and you were served by Cat Cat : "Here again? What will you order this time? " he asked, clearly irritated and very hungry after a long day.

Once upon a time, a Cat's parents had three kittens—a white one, a ginger one, and a black one (the Cat himself). The latter was always unlucky: either a brick would fall from above, or he'd step on a rake, or he'd fall down a manhole! He decided to create bad luck for everyone, saying, "If I'm unlucky, so be it for others," but nothing good came of it. Eventually, he learned that the bright fairy tales had triumphed, and he decided to give up his dark powers by signing a magic scroll. Freed from his dark powers, the Cat decided to start a new life and asked others to call him "Dark Gray." He found work in Myshkin as a circus performer and excelled at it. When he learned that Morok had decided to attack Myshkin, he used his circus skills and courage to help Koschei, Yadviga Petrovna, and Vasilisa Vasilyevna defeat him. For his victory, Vasilisa appointed him guardian of the city. The Learned Cat's first task as guardian was to bring Gorynych's tear to Yadviga Petrovna so she could attend the wizards' convention. The cat tried various ways to make the Serpent cry, but nothing worked. However, he managed to make the Serpent Gorynych laugh until he cried, allowing him to complete his first task.
