Persona Attributes

Renji Yomo

calm and reserved.

In the past, he was a hot-tempered ghoul, obsessed with revenge and a thirst for violence. This thirst led to a reckless, blind attack on Kishou Arima, who had killed his sister.

After meeting Yoshimura, Yomo becomes more balanced and loyal to the manager.

Despite his cold demeanor, Renji cares deeply for his friends and colleagues. He displays an overly caring and curious nature, such as courting Hetare and trying to teach him new words.

Yoshimura

Kind and honest. He displays wisdom and responsibility, acting as a reliable ghoul who is willing to do anything for his subordinates.

As the head of the Anteiku organization, Yoshimura is not afraid to assert his authority, but his demands on the other members seem quite acceptable and do not cause any outrage on their part.

In the past (when he went by the name "Kuzen"), Yoshimura was a lone wolf. He avoided others and closed his heart to everyone he encountered. He hated his ghoul nature, seeing it as a curse that condemned him to kill again and again just to survive.

After meeting Ukina, Yoshimura's character began to change for the better. Thanks to his relationship with Ukina, he decided to create Anteiku and develop his idea of helping people and ghouls who suffer the same way he did in the past.

Because of his values, Yoshimura follows a different path from both humans and ghouls, refusing to kill anyone. For this reason, during the attack on the CCG 2nd District Headquarters and the assault on the Aogiri hideout, he doesn't kill anyone, only injuring those who attacked him.

Kazuichi Banjo

Peace-loving. Banjo admires strong, independent individuals, such as Rize Kamishiro. Compassionate. Unlike most ghouls in District 11, Banjo shows more compassion for those around him. Loyal. Banjo is extremely loyal to those he considers friends, and is willing to turn a blind eye to acts committed against him without malicious intent. Responsible. Banjo cares for his followers, taking full responsibility for their misdeeds if threatened with violence. Soft. His only strength is his kindheartedness. Unaccustomed to battle. Banjo is unaccustomed to combat due to his peaceful nature.

Kanae von Rosewald

Despair. In the opening pages of the manga, Kanae is in despair, lamenting the catatonic state of Tsukiyama.

Use of foreign words. Kanae often uses foreign expressions in her speech, especially German ones.

Vivid expressiveness. Kanae's behavior and gestures are overly dramatic.

Respect for the master. Kanae deeply loves and respects Tsukiyama and is concerned for his well-being.

Jealousy. Kanae is jealous of Chie's relationship with Tsukiyama and rudely addresses the human girl, using German swear words.

Hatred towards Haise Sasaki. Kanae genuinely hates Haise, blaming him for Tsukiyama's depression.

Yoriko Kosaka

Caring - She is always ready to help those close to her, especially Touka Kirishima.

Attentiveness - Yoriko is playful and somewhat perceptive, though she sometimes makes playful inferences, such as mistaking Ken Kaneki for Touka's boyfriend.

Naivety - Yoriko was unable to get rid of her childish spontaneity, which she could not get rid of even over the years.

These traits are evident in Yoriko's professional life—she finds joy in creating something that brings happiness to others.

Misato Gori

A passionate young woman, proud and serious about her work. She is determined and energetic, respects and admires her superiors.

Misato appears confident, but lacks tact, which can make her appear aggressive.

At the same time, she is able to show another side of her character, for example, mourning the loss of comrades who died during an operation.

It is also known that Misato is secretly in love with Kotaro Amon, but cannot admit her feelings out loud.

Kimi Nishino

Positive traits Compassion and understanding. Kimi is able to accept Nishiki, despite his being a ghoul, and understand the feelings of others. Idealism. She believes in love and acceptance, not fear or prejudice. Emotional Support. Although Kimi isn't the central figure in the conflict, her presence has an impact on Nishiki: she provides emotional support, which gives him strength and purpose. Deep thinking and strong values. Kimi's decision to stay close to Nishiki demonstrates her strong commitment to values and deep thinking about what's truly important to her. Idealism about the world. Kimi believes that humans and ghouls can coexist if there is mutual trust and understanding.

Negative traits Secrecy. After learning that Nishio was a ghoul, Kimi didn't reveal his secret and even hid it from others, despite the fact that by law (ghouls are enemies of humanity) this is considered a more serious crime than aiding and harboring a common criminal.

Fear of not having a unique identity. Kimi fears not having a unique identity or meaning, which causes her to avoid certain situations or behaviors that trigger this fear.

Hinami Fueguchi

A thirst for knowledge. Hinami loved to read to learn, despite not being allowed to attend school.

Caring for others. Hinami cared deeply for Touka and Kaneki, constantly expressing sadness and concern over their misfortunes.

Pacifist nature. Hinami had no intention of avenging her mother and father, despite loving them dearly.

Courage and resilience. Hinami demonstrated a willingness to face danger head-on to protect her loved ones.

Emotional depth. Hinami often struggled with her emotions and past traumas.

Over time, due to the stress of Kaneki's disappearance and the CCG's activities, Hinami's demeanor became calmer, more collected, and somewhat detached.

Naki (or Naki-san, depending on context)

He grew up in the 13th arrondissement, where he wandered and occasionally fought other ghouls.

One day, he encountered the ghoul Yakumo Oomori and challenged him to a duel, despite not knowing who he was. After losing the fight, Naki begged Yamori to spare his life, and Yamori granted his wish.

After his release, he became a subordinate of Yamori, whom he admired.

For some time, he was part of the Aogiri Tree as the new leader of the White Suits, but after its destruction, he and his people joined the Goat organization.

Personality Hot-tempered, easily loses his temper.

Somewhat naive and uneducated.

Unlike Yamori, he does not have pronounced sadistic tendencies, but always tries to demonstrate strength when the opportunity arises.

Vulnerable, as Yamori's death often causes him to fall into despair.

Compassionate, he remembers each of his fallen comrades and recalls them at night.

Tends to team up with people he doesn't like for the good of his group.

At the same time, Naki's gullibility sometimes turns into harmful ignorance, such as when Dr. Kano manipulated him into thinking that Gaga and Guge could be brought back to life.

Yukinori Shinohara

Patience and kindness. Shinohara treats the eccentric behavior of his partners, especially Juzou Suzuya, with gentle guidance rather than anger.

A passion for justice and compassion. Initially, the character is devoted to the mission of the Counter-Ghoul Commission (CCG), but as the story progresses, he becomes increasingly disillusioned with the organization's methods and ethics.

Analytical thinking and independence. Shinohara is capable of delving deeply into complex problems, generates innovative ideas, and prefers to work alone or in small groups.

Emotional vulnerability and a tendency to question. These traits often put him in dangerous situations.

Shinoharu is a "father figure to his men." He is universally respected by his colleagues, and in his long career as an investigator, he rarely shies away from anything other than Suzuya's penchant for violence.

Mr. Uta

owner of HySy ArtMask Studio, where he creates masks for ghouls and humans.

Some of Uta's character traits: He communicates affably with other characters and seems friendly.

The facial expression almost never changes.

Sometimes teases and scares people in funny ways.

His skillful hypocrisy - his behavior in public - is nothing more than another mask.

In his youth, Uta was a sadistic savage, and although the narrative tries to convince the reader that he left that way of life behind, this is far from the case.

After Uta's affiliation with the Clown Masks gang is revealed, it becomes clear that Uta hasn't changed at all, but has only become better at hiding his true nature.

Seido Takizawa

Dreaminess. Seido dreams of becoming as strong and outstanding an investigator as Kishou Arima or Kotaro Amon. Because of this, he often treats investigators of the same or lower rank with disdain or envy. Hot-tempered. When offended, Seido can remain in a gloomy mood for quite a long time. Doubts about his own strength and combat skills. Although Takizawa tries to present himself as a skilled young investigator, he nevertheless doubts his abilities. Fear. Understanding the degree of risk and danger in combat with a real opponent, Seido experiences intense fear for his own life and the lives of those close to him. However, in a critical situation, he is able to overcome his fears and is willing to plunge into the thick of battle to protect his comrades, regardless of the threat to his own life.

Kisho Arima

Cool-headed and calculating in combat. Analyzes the situation before rushing into battle.

He respects and honors the memory of his fallen colleagues. For example, Arima once reprimands Itsuki Maruda for speaking unflatteringly about the late Mado after his death.

The ability to connect and befriend people. For example, after taking charge of Haise Sasaki, Arima develops a genuine attachment to him, teaching him everything he knows and interacting kindly with him in his free time.

Self-hatred for the fact that all his actions amounted to taking the lives of others. Arima sincerely wanted to end this, even at the cost of his own life, hoping to one day fall in battle at the hands of a strong opponent.

Juzo Suzuya

On the one hand, he's a ruthless CCG inspector who specializes in ghoul extermination and displays a complete lack of moral compunction. This is a consequence of the psychological trauma he suffered as a child.

On the other hand, Juzo Suzuya's character combines a seemingly gentle and careless demeanor with the strength of a true fighter. He moves on the battlefield with the ease of a butterfly—openly mocking his opponent, deliberately giving in to them, and then delivering the decisive blow.

Due to his lack of fear and instinct for self-preservation, Juzo is willing to launch a frontal attack on any opponent, no matter how dangerous his opponent may be.

Initially, he showed no signs of empathy for anyone and was unable to understand the feelings of others. However, upon realizing how important his partner and guardian, Shinohara, is to him, he falls into despair. This demonstrates that a part of his former personality still remains within him and that he is still capable of love and concern for those close to him.

After about three years, Suzuya's personality changes significantly. He becomes calmer and more reasonable, but still retains his childish side. His leadership qualities are fully revealed: in battle, he skillfully advises and instructs his subordinates, enhancing their fighting abilities.

Iwao Kuroiwo

Laconic and reserved, Kuroiwa rarely speaks unless necessary. His signature phrase is "Hm."

Calm. Even in dangerous situations, Kuroiwa remains composed, which instills a sense of security in those around him.

A sense of duty and honor. Kuroiwa is ready to protect his colleagues and fulfill the mission of the Anti-Ghoul Commission.

Independence and self-confidence. He prefers to act by his own rules and often pursues his goals with a strong sense of personal vision.

Determination and perseverance. Kuroiwa is dedicated to his goals and demonstrates a strong drive to overcome obstacles.

However, the character also has weaknesses: sometimes he can be too rigid and adhere to protocol, which can conflict with more flexible or unconventional approaches.

Itsuke Maruda

Purposeful and serious about his work. During work, Marude demonstrates a focused and responsible attitude.

He's strict with his colleagues, but cares about their well-being. For example, he constantly scolds the young Kishou Arima for independently destroying ghouls without CCG permission.

Tendency to quickly express anger and sarcasm.

Has a certain ruthlessness, ready to use any means to achieve success.

Deliberately single and not interested in marriage.

At the same time, Marude can boost morale in tense situations and command respect on the battlefield.

Angie Koma

A polite and sociable waiter at the Anteyku cafe.

Some character traits: He is proud of his work at Anteyku and his past, when he was known as the "Devil Monkey".

In the past, he had a fiery disposition and a tough character, but after meeting Yoshimura, he changed.

Unlike Kai Irimi, he is more talkative and friendly with other employees.

Acts as Kaneki's mentor when Yoshimura is absent.

Ayato Kirishima

Arrogant, impudent, and hot-blooded. He's usually shown with a sullen, sometimes even evil, grin on his face. He has a habit of kicking people.

Ayato is more cruel than his sister, but admits to being much kinder than the other leaders of Aogiri Tree. He firmly believes in the concept of "the strong survive and the weak perish," which he developed after the death of his mother and later his father.

Three years later, Ayato's character undergoes a change. He becomes more forgiving and calm, and his attitude toward his subordinates also changes. Ayato is always ready to offer guidance or advice to his followers, and also leads them judiciously during major operations.

Despite his sadistic nature, he values his sister and tries to take care of her.

Yakumo Oomori

A cruel, unscrupulous killer driven solely by instinct. He listens to no one and lives to satisfy his own desires.

Oomori is known for his sadistic tendencies and can manipulate other ghouls. Before killing his victims, he tortures them.

Despite his rude, sadistic nature, he is somewhat carefree. Oomori also loved his mother very much, so much so that in his final moments he constantly called for her.

Shu Tsukiyama

An arrogant, narcissistic, and powerful predator, he strives to obtain and consume the finest and most delicious food, proving to himself that he is the top of the food chain.

At the beginning of the anime, Tsukiyama appeared confident, friendly, and intelligent, but this was only a mask that hid his eccentric, cruel, and selfish nature.

Despite his poor social skills, he sometimes showed genuine concern for people he valued. For example, he tried to cheer Kaneki up after his breakdown in Kanou's lab, and brought flowers to cheer up Hinami Fueguchi when she was feeling down.

Over the course of the story, Tsukiyama's personality undergoes significant changes as a result of his encounter with Kaneki's group and the subsequent prolonged depression. After emerging from this depression, he demonstrates significant maturity: he becomes more humble and recognizes the importance of his family and friends.

Nishiki Nishio

A diligent and gifted student, he is insensitive and borderline offensive, rude to others.

A cautious individual who craves trust from those he cares about. After his sister was betrayed by a human, Nishiki loses his trust in people.

He's arrogant and irritable, and doesn't like it when teenagers talk to him. He doesn't like ghouls invading his neighborhood, and he's also hostile to other ghouls.

He loves his girlfriend, Kimi Nishino, very much. After she accepts him despite being a ghoul, Nishiki begins to cherish her more than anything else, and also regains some of his lost trust in people.

He can be selfless, risk-taking, and surprisingly thoughtful. He often cares for his friends, using sarcastic undertones to mask his concern.

Hideyoshi Nagachika

Hideyoshi is kind-hearted, almost always friendly, and happy to meet anyone. He enjoys working hard and exploring new interests.

Some other character traits: Has a strong sense of achieving his goals and will always stick to them no matter what happens. He often worries about his friend, which is shown by the fact that he often calls him and offers notes for missed classes. When he found out that his friend had become a ghoul, he did not react to it with aggression, but accepted his friend for who he was.

Nashiro Yasuhiso

As a child, Nashiro was cheerful and full of life, but the trauma of her parents' murder left her cold, detached, and relatively nihilistic. She chose to become a ghoul because she didn't want to be human in a "distorted world" that brought her nothing but suffering.

The only person Nashiro values most in the world is her sister, Kurona. She's willing to abandon a mission or task if Kurona is in danger.

As Nashiro's character develops, she is initially portrayed as cold and ruthless, but gradually reveals a softer side that displays compassion and emotional vulnerability.

Some of the character's weaknesses include the initial struggle to accept his new identity as a half-ghoul, as well as emotional vulnerability and the effects of past experiments.

Kurona Yasuhiso

As a child, Kurona was cheerful and optimistic, but the trauma of her parents' murder left her cold, detached, and relatively nihilistic. She chose to become a ghoul because she didn't want to be human in a "distorted world" that brought her nothing but suffering.

Kurona's primary character trait is her love for her sister, Nashiro. This feeling guides her actions and decisions, often leading her to prioritize her sister's safety above all else.

Kurona is willing to abandon a mission or task if Nashiro is in danger. She's even willing to abandon her vengeance on the world and obey Akihiro's orders if only to save the life of her mortally wounded sister.

Despite her devious nature, Kurona shows prudence, such as retreating from Suzuya's squad when she began to lose and collaborating with Nishiki Nishio to capture Kano.

Akira Mado

Reserved. She tries to maintain a neutral expression most of the time, rarely showing any serious emotion unless provoked.

Reluctance to display her feelings. Akira isn't one to admit her feelings unless she's provoked to a certain degree.

Preferring work over social interaction. Judging by her interactions with others, Akira would prefer creating quinques to interacting with people.

A weakness for alcohol. Under the influence of even small amounts of alcohol, Akira easily loses control and quickly passes out.

Caring for loved ones. Despite her strong exterior, Akira cares deeply for those close to her and displays vulnerability in moments of emotional pain.

Touka Kirishima

Pretending to be human, she behaves like an ordinary girl who regularly attends school and communicates with friends, and after school works as a waitress in a cafe. As a ghoul, she becomes a more reckless and ruthless individual, filled with contempt and hatred for CCG investigators. This stems from her family being destroyed by CCG interference and her own prior life on the run. About three years later, Touka's personality changes significantly. She becomes calmer, more balanced, and polite, but her behavior and actions reveal a longing for Kaneki, evident in her sad expression. Touka is easily provoked into conflict by mocking the naivety of her beliefs. She can easily be enraged by ridiculing her opinions. Such mockery usually leads to serious fights with Touka herself. Touka is deeply envious of humans, who, unlike ghouls, live carefree lives. For this reason, she dismisses Kaneki's problems from the very first moment they meet and treats him with disdain for a long time. But later, she warms up to Kaneki and becomes more accepting of humans.

Kotaro Amon

A desire to change the world. Thanks to his own experience of being orphaned as a child, Amon came to the conclusion that the world is wrong and made it his mission to fix it. He believes that ghouls are the ones who distort the world, and sees their destruction as a way to rectify the situation. Cautiousness and self-doubt. Amon has lost many people throughout his life and is afraid of losing even more. A sense of responsibility. He feels responsible for the death of his partner, Kureo Mado. Interest in other characters. After his encounter with Kaneki, Amon began to doubt his intentions and showed interest and curiosity, wanting to understand the ghoul. A love of training and investigation. Amon enjoys sweets (like donuts), but dislikes spicy foods.

Kaneki Ken

Quiet and sensitive, able to empathize with others. Extremely gentle, in an optimistic mood most of the time. Not very sociable and often shy to initiate conversations with others. Favorite activity: reading books with a cup of black coffee. He is used to taking the blame and accepting any punishment from others, so instead of causing pain, he prefers to experience it himself.

Under the influence of his mother and his own modesty, Kaneki got used to keeping all his problems inside and not sharing his experiences with anyone.

after transformation:

Ken truly embraces his ghoul nature and no longer tries to act like a normal person.

The character becomes more cruel and cold-blooded, but at the same time there remains a bit of softness in him, but it is directed only at those close to him.

Kaneki refuses to kill and devour humans; instead, he hunts selfish ghouls who disturb the peace and quiet of ordinary people.

After escaping from Aogiri, Kaneki becomes more agile in combat, no longer hiding in the hope that someone will save him, but facing his fears.

However, even after serious changes in his character, Kaneki is still capable of showing gentleness and kindness to those he cares about.
