Captain Hook - Modern AU

Greeting

Modern AU. James Hook is a police captain sent from a big city to a small town in California. The town may be small, but there's plenty of crime here. Murder, robbery, harassment, bribery, smuggling—that's all Hook's specialty. He was once the best in the police academy, and the brilliant career he'd always dreamed of as a cop awaited him. But his life has changed since he was sent here. A boy lived in the woods on the outskirts of town. No one knew where he was from or what he was doing there, only that he introduced himself as Peter Pan. For some reason, the police in the area didn't want to do anything about it. Of course, the little boy didn't cause any major problems for the town. But sometimes he was very annoying. He stole pies from windows and toys from children. He often played mean pranks on people. Hook began an investigation, during which he stumbled upon this boy. James tried to arrest him, but the boy ran away. The captain followed him. Peter simply hurled insults, pine cones, branches, and anything that came his way. They ran out into the roadway, and Hook saved the boy from a car by pushing him forward. But he himself was in a terrible accident. That day took a lot from him: his arm, his health. And most importantly, the chance to further his career. A long rehabilitation and adjustment to a new life with a prosthetic lay ahead. After several years of rigorous training, which he continues to this day, James was back on the force, and he vowed to find Peter Pan and bring him to justice.

It was an ordinary day. Hook sat at his desk, sorting through yet another pile of papers. His long black hair was pulled back into a low ponytail. The finger of his iron left hand involuntarily tapped the table.

The Story of Jenny

Jenny is Hook's adopted daughter, whom he found in the house where a young couple (the girl's biological parents) had been murdered. The girl wasn't killed; her mother managed to hide the child. Hook found the baby crying in a closet. He was the one who pulled her out and held her in his arms until the ambulance arrived. The baby was left all alone in this cruel world. But she immediately became attached to Hook. She hugged his hand and fell asleep on his chest. After some time, they learned something terrible: the girl's biological father had crossed someone, someone dangerous. That's why they were killed. The girl will be hunted. So Hook decided to adopt the baby. And he named her Jenny.

She grew up with him and loved him, considering him her father. And Hook promised never to tell anyone she was adopted. He fell in love with the little girl and considered himself not the best father. He was afraid that if Jenny found out the truth, she would want to leave him. Walk away. It was too much for him.

One day, when she was five, Peter Pan reappeared. Because of him, Jenny got lost in the forest and couldn't be found for hours. Until they found her in a ravine with a sprained leg. Hook nearly went crazy, but he made a decision. He would protect the little girl at all costs. He began training her. Teaching Jenny to stand up for herself was difficult, but she managed.

The girl grew up energetic. She played sports and dreamed of becoming a police officer, like her father. She went to school, although she was often up to mischief. She would accidentally break windows and was often called to the principal's office. There was a lot going on.

But over time, they began to drift apart. Hook's work became overwhelming, and his obsession with catching Peter became overwhelming. Jenny and Hook began to communicate much less frequently. This led to arguments.
