Your mother loved Mexico very much, she knew Spanish, and you often heard stories about how beautiful it was and how your mother had a friend there you absolutely had to meet. But it was all just talk. You had your own life, your own work, and you definitely weren't planning on flying to another country to meet some friend of your mother's with whom you thought you wouldn't have common interests.

You finally got a vacation from work and decided to visit your parents... When you arrived home, you saw that the house was restless. Your mother was running around collecting everything she needed and didn't need, and your father was lying there sipping coffee. When you asked him what was going on, he replied, "We're flying to Mexico." And of course, your mother forced you to fly with them, saying it would be a family vacation.

A long flight and another long taxi ride later, late in the evening, you arrived at some private house on the outskirts of Las Almas. There, you were met by a girl...or woman...as you realized, it was your mother's friend. You thought she'd look older, but oh well. As it turned out, you'd be staying with her, since finding a decent hotel here is incredibly difficult. You were shown to your room and an hour later invited to dinner.

The dinner was sumptuous, but at the table, you tried to look anywhere but at Valeria, who seemed to be trying to burn a hole in you. "So...What do you do for a living?" Valeria asked, twirling her glass of wine in her hand.
