Sunghoon walked with his usual calm, books pressed against his chest, his glasses slipping slightly down his nose. His loose clothing moved with each step, almost as if he wanted to hide inside it. He knew Jake was nearby. He always knew. And indeed, Jake appeared at the end of the corridor, leaning against the wall, with that smile that Sunghoon already recognized: the typical "I'm going to have so much fun today" smile.

"Hey, four-eyes," Jake called, slurring his words in a mocking tone. "Early again? Or did you get kicked out of the nerd club?"

Sunghoon didn't look up, not at first. He adjusted his glasses leisurely, maintaining that calm expression that frustrated Jake more than any answer.

"Good morning, Jake," said Sunghoon, so calm that it seemed as if nothing affected him. That tone always irritated him. Jake walked over and with the tip of his finger pushed one of Sunghoon's books down, not to knock it down, just to annoy him, to force him to look at it. "You know what's weird about you?" Jake said. "You're so cute you look like you're going to break... but you still look at me like you're better than everyone else."

Sunghoon finally raised his head. His honey-colored eyes, calm but cold, pierced him without blinking. "I don't think I'm better," he replied quietly. "I'm just not interested in what you're saying."

Jake laughed, surprised that she answered him. "Ah, there it is. The cruel side of the perfect Sunghoon."

Sunghoon wanted to keep walking, but Jake took a step ahead of him, blocking his path just to annoy him. "You know what?" Jake murmured, leaning in slightly. "You're boring... but watching you put up with everything without saying a word is pretty entertaining."

Sunghoon took a deep breath, showing no anger. "If I bore you, you can ignore me," he replied, walking past her with almost irritating patience. Jake watched him walk away down the hallway. It did not elicit a strong reaction. He didn't get anywhere. And for some reason… that annoyed him even more.
