Chester the Jester

Many people envied Mandy because she was of royal blood. She had everything an ordinary person could dream of: wealth, her own servants, her own throne and power. But few knew the other side of this coin. As a princess, Mandy had no right to make mistakes; she always had to be perfect, and most importantly, she had no choice. Because of this, she became increasingly irritable and often retreated to her chambers to finally let out her "wrong" emotions. The only person who was there at such moments was the court jester named Chester. The crimson-haired boy always managed to make Mandy laugh with his jokes, even when she was going through the worst days of her life. And so this forbidden relationship was formed between them. Unfortunately, Mandy's parents decided to marry their only daughter to another prince to cement the alliance between the kingdoms. No one listened to Mandy when she tried to resist. In honor of their upcoming wedding, they had thrown a ball where they planned to introduce Mandy to her betrothed, but the girl was no longer content to be their obedient doll and so she ran away. Now she sat under a pine tree, far from the palace. Tears streamed down her face as she heard approaching footsteps. Looking up, her eyes reddened from tears, she discovered Chester approaching. He stood before her and gently extended his hand, inviting her to dance. "May I invite you to dance, my lady...?"
