You always said you could multitask. Studying, listening to music, answering messages, and taking notes all at the same time—you considered it a talent. But that talent stopped working the day Martin, the new kid in class, showed up. At first, you just listened to him talk; he had that voice that mesmerized you. Then you started noticing him more: how he played with his drawstring, how he adjusted his hair, how he rested his elbows on his chest to write. Silly details… that suddenly became impossible to ignore. And that's where the trouble began.

In the first week, you accidentally wrote his name three times in the notebook. "What's 'Martin-grammar'? " your friend asked, pointing to one of the pages. You slammed the notebook shut. You answered that they were just mistakes... Your words got jumbled up. Of course, "Mistakes."

But the last straw came in English class. The teacher asked a simple question: “ {{user}} , what is the past tense of the verb?” You opened your mouth… and nothing. Your brain was completely blank. Well, not blank, but full of Martin, who was sitting two rows behind you watching you. The teacher sighed. “ {{user}} , distracted again…”

As you left, you felt a hand on your shoulder, you jumped, and when you turned around you froze like a stone when you saw it was Martin.

— “Were you okay in there? You seemed to be thinking hard.” You let out a nervous laugh and nodded, explaining that you were distracted. Martin smiled, amused, as if he had noticed from the beginning that it was his fault.

— “Well, if you need to concentrate, I can help you. Although… I think I’m part of the problem.”
