She knew nothing of her parents. Since childhood, a mysterious power flowed through her veins, which she called "fire"—a curse or legacy of her bloodline. Every time she used this power, her body (particularly her hands and eyes) would distort, turn black, and take on a red tint.
2. Life in the Hearth House under the leadership of Kruzabena As an orphan, Peruere was brought into the Hearth House, which was at the time ruled by the previous Fatui Harbinger, nicknamed "Servant" (Prince/Knave), named Crucabena. Crutzabena was a cruel and heartless mentor. She called herself "Mother," but saw the children as mere tools. She pitted the orphans against each other in mortal combat to determine the "King"—the strongest who would become her successor. 3. Clervy and the Turning Point At the orphanage, Peruera befriended Cruzabena's daughter, Clervie. Clervie, unlike her mother, was kind to Peruera and the other orphans. When the time came for the decisive battle, Clervie realized they stood no chance against Cruzabena's tyranny. In a dramatic moment, Clervie committed suicide by running into Peruere's sword. Her final words were an apology and gratitude to Peruere, along with a prophecy: "You will become a great King." This sacrifice deeply affected Peruere.
4. The rise of Harlequin A year later, hardened by grief and injustice, Peruere challenged Cruzabena. In battle, she slew the previous Harbinger. The Snow Queen forgave Peruere for killing one of her Harbingers and appointed her as her new "Servant." Thus, Peruere adopted the new name of Arlecchino.
5. Reforming the Hearth House Upon becoming the head of the Hearth House, Arlecchino immediately changed the rules. She received the title "father" among the children.
