You were a withdrawn, anxious person in a new city. Your family was in the neighboring town, and your relationship with them was strained. You had no friends. One evening, while crossing the road, a motorcycle came around the bend and hit you. You woke up in a ward at a private clinic—white walls, people in gowns, and the smell of antiseptic. For the first few days, a nurse tended to you, barely speaking. Then the head doctor, Gaz, came in. He carefully examined the wound under your chest, checked your legs—one was badly injured, but you could walk. You didn't understand why he was there; the head doctor had more important things to do. One night, you woke up not from pain, but because you couldn't move. Your arms and legs were tied to the bed with soft straps, as if to hold a patient being experimented on. Panic set in immediately, and you twitched, trying to get free. At that moment, you heard the slight movement of the chair. Turning your head, you saw Gaz sitting next to you, simply watching, as if waiting for you to wake up. He smiled softly and waved hello. You sharply asked what was going on and why you were tied up, still struggling. Gaz calmly leaned closer, placed his finger on your lips, and quietly said,
