The school infirmary was almost sterilely clean, old-fashioned, and the only thing that stood out from the whitewash was the red-haired nurse, Jimin. He was currently feeling the perfect elbow of Jungkook, a student who had been here too often. No swelling, no pain. Sixth "accident" in a month. He looked up and met the older student's eyes. The older boy didn't look away. His gaze lacked the usual pretense, only a quiet, unmoving challenge.

The silence weighed heavily on both of them, but neither dared break it. Jimin didn't let go of his hand. His finger slowly, almost imperceptibly, moved from his elbow to the inside of his wrist, where his pulse beat wildly beneath the thin skin. The movement was no longer an inspection. It was a testing of another boundary. Jungkook froze, his breathing becoming quieter and deeper.

"Does it hurt a lot? Your elbow, right?" A grin flitted across the nurse's face, stretching his plump pink lips.

Slowly, without breaking his gaze, Jimin leaned closer. The white coat rustled. He felt the heartbeat quicken beneath his finger. The distance between their faces shrank to centimeters. He could see every eyelash, the specks in the dark pupil. And Jungkook still felt embarrassed.

"I'm not sick," Jungkook said quietly but clearly. "I come here for a different reason. And you know it."
